Has anybody tried the c£80 pagid brake pads from the likes of Philip walker? How are the pads, ok? I heard they squeal . Any truth in this?

Haven't tried them but squeal is usually from the shims/lack of copper slip rather than the pads themselves...

Tried some on an RS4 yesterday after it had an MRC tune up and they were fine, and I did need to use them!
Pagid do a special mounting paste in a little tube which is around £3.50, worth using as less temperature sensitive

I got a set from Philip and have covered over 500 miles and can't notice any difference from stock. Certainly no squeel.

If we are talking about Phill @ PW Motorsport i recently bought Front OEM discs and Pagid pads for the RS - It feels very very good indeed only a very slight squeal when it is raining and when u stop @ 5mph and under so no reall problem !
Was abit worried cause on one of my evo's i used Pagid's and had to change them after 200 miles due to the squealling !! It was unbearable !!

Yep, Philip at pwmotorsport . Got my delivery next day and got them fitted yesterday for 50 quid. So far so good. There appeared so much life left in the original oem (18k miles from new) pads (about half the thickness of the new ones) that came off despite pad warning light been on for last 4 weeks. However its the pins that are too deep hence need to change pads sooner than necessary before they are exposed . I don't think the replacement pagids from Phil hav pins in them, In which case they should last ages.

The Pagid's have a smaller contact area than the OEMs but for the price they are good.
I only mention this because the Jag XKR-S review in Evo says that one of the mods from the XKR is that the brakes have an enlarged pad contact area however for road use I am sure there is no discernable difference and Audi are taking the p1ss wanting £269 for the genuine front pads ALSO MADE BY PAGID!

Thats not a bad price is it, for 8 high performance brake pads. works out at about £33 each. The Pagid blues I think are like £445 a set and and Yellow £558
