Previous RS4 had a bigger kick at 5500rpm than my new avant

Just picked up my new 2007 avant in Daytona Grey which I have changed to due to my wife having another baby and my 2006 Phantom black saloon was just proving difficult to get pushchairs in etc . The avant is just so much more practical.
But what I have noticed is that my saloon used to kick that bit harder at 5500rpm. My avant is being serviced on Wednesday with new plugs and an ITG air filter so hopefully this will improve it and I know the avant is 60 kg heavier. It still pulls really well mind so I'm not complaining but did just wonder if it may have an intake or vacuum issue.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Airbox flap maybe? Made a big difference to mine.

what is the 5,500 kick? are these cars supposed to have a "standard" torque peak at 5,500?

Combination of things no doubt
Throttle opening fully in lower gears, air box flap, maybe even a cam profile change.

Yes, if you dont feel a second wind at 5.5k (easiest to feel in 2nd and 3rd) , then something is not working right

Or you haven't taken it to MRC for a remapping so that you have full throttle across the band, rather than the extra kick at 5500.
Still the best thing I ever did for mine if I'm honest.. that and of course getting the DRC done for free on extended warranty!
Enjoy.

Yep, a fat old heavy Avant
Fellas, I dont even have a flap in the air box as im running a GruppeM and still feel the "kick". what your feeling is the cam change.

Some kick more than others, question is are some faster before 5000 revs anyway?

I would think plugs and filter will make a big difference. When I changed from OEM to BMC there was a noticable difference.
And I'd keep up with you tail waggy saloon drivers any day.

Thanks everyone for your input. Probably will get my flaps checked ( excuse the pun ) . But hopefully the plugs and iTG air filter will make a difference. If not then a visit to MRC might be a good idea.
