Guys I have only owned it a short time however yesterday I said good bye to my rs4........

The good news however is I have decided to re-invest the money and a little more to buy a v8 r8. Not bought one yet but on the look out with the money burning ab whole in my pocket which is never a good thing.

Has anyone made a smiler move? I would be interested in hearing peoples experiences........ I just hope I don't live to regret it?!

Manual or tiptronic?

The R8s are suppose to be fun. I have never driven one, but I do have a soft spot for them. Question is, V10 or V8?

V10, no doubt in my mind. Otherwise IMO you may as well keep your RS4. IIRC the R8 is quicker in the dry but on all wet course times the RS4 is quicker; ideal for our rain soden little country. And you still get the practicality of a 4/5 door car with a big boot.

My boss did,
Had 3 RS4's (one cab & 2 saloons) 2 V8 R8's and a white Spyder which he sold in October for a £15k loss after 3 months of ownership!!

Verdict - He still thinks the RS4 is the best all round car he's owned and was tempted to a get another one in March 2011 until I got mine. He's now looking at F430, 997 Turbo, Gallardo Coupe OR the R8 V8 Spyder. He's been an Audi man like me for over 10 years and he looks to be leaning towards the R8 again as he can't stop singing its praises. If I were in his shoes I'd go for something totally different but in his words the R8's are awesome kit and he hasn't slept properly since he sold it. I would also say he had to have two new engines in the original V8's - I'll find out why.

just doing a deal to sell my rs4 avant.

needs tyres, service and warranty extension, and the fact i have no confidence in my local dealer, has lead me down the path.

found a good RS knowledgable dealer who's paying a good price with known issues.

will be shopping for a new car later this week....big hp merc looking likely, or another CSL, or i might get a big schlep, like an xkr, looking forward to the search....

love rs4's, had two of them, but i dont like bad service, and extortionate running costs( rs4's are just bonkers), and they are getting to an age when stuff is going wrong.

if i had a good specialist near me, i'd have kept it, but i dont, so deal done, low loader on route.

They are fantastic cars and ridiculous noise. Make sure you get the LSD as they do not come as standard. The Performace Pack Plus adds 30BHP and SLS internals. Just dont get one yet as they have just face lifted it and added the MCT gearbox (PDK/DSG/DCT equivalent). It was awesome with a slush box so it should now be even better. I think the facelift will be available April time. If you are not bothered about the facelift then discounts should be very high. I managed 7k on a car specced to 62k back in September last year.

C63 is great and I'm hoping to drive one when I do my AMG experience at Brooklands but it just doesn't look anything like as special as a RS4 in my opinion (cleaned mine yesterday, black with black optics and it looks fantastic :))...

I did the full day there 2 years ago (was a good day out) and had a good hour on the track. However, when I got back in my RS4 at the end of the day, it made my car feel like I was in a go kart, almost like a Lotus Elise in comparison, but lacking power. I was gutted. took me a good week to shrug off the C63. But the noise, Jesus, makes our Milltek RS4s sound like quiet.

One gripe i have with the C63 in the looks department is the rear wings could do with putting on a little weight, i doesn't look aggressive from the rear unlike the RS4.
I'm not fussed about the face lift model as i will buy an example around 12 months old, but as mentioned PP and LSD a must. :D

I am also considering a C63 NEXT!! Great minds must think alike....tooooo expensive for me at the moment....might give it 18 months and see what they are going for then...Go on you tube and watch/listen to them!! AWESOME.

Theres also a couple of vids where the RS4 gets whopped!! Although i suppose its to be expected due to the increase in power.

i test drove the c63 and the new m3 as i was originally trading in the rs4 before i met doug and the gang! (could be in a ferrari by now) ha but tbh i really didnt enjoy any of them the c63's noise tho it had to be said was amazing and i know the dealer so he allowed me to drive it 'quick' and it is quick IF you can get the power on the road and with our weather i think there wont be many time when thats happening im afraid

After selling the RS4 the Mrs has asked if she can have something more comfortable to drive day to day, the C63 seems the obvious choice. :D
