Post by neckarsulm » Tue Feb 01, 2011 10:59 am

Seems to be getting very common now.
I have read these codes off 2 cars in the past 2 weeks;
Anyone have any ideas?
I am assuming failure of the antenna which AFAIK is located between the rear bumper and the back panel.

Wiring (and they class this as wiring / electrical) isn't covered as for some reason they class electrical as "wear n tear".. Go figure!!
I had to pay although it was my wife whopaid as I was working. If I had been home I may have tried harder.

wiring or antenna?
Anyone got a bill for the work that they can scan up?
I am assuming it's bumper off, swap aerial and bumper back on?

Just ordered one and yes it is which is weird as its cheaper or identical to a TPMS wheel sensor!

This is the first vehicle I have ever had with TPMS, and im never going back. Realistically I will never check my tyres unless I have reason to do so.

If it's as bad as getting the back bumper off on a B7 S4 Avant, then I am not looking forward to it, Bose amp had to be unclipped to get access to some bolt or other. I wonder if it can be got at with bumper on but doubt it, holes that you can get your hand through round there are bad for aerodynamics

Let's agree to disagree. Mine's a weekend driver (and only then when I get the chance) so if I'm heading down a motorway with the family on board and silly speeds a possibility, I'll always check before heading off. I'm not a luddite, but see temperamental monitoring systems as no substitute for a dipstick and pressure gauge...
