Audi Option Codes decoder

Apologies if this has already been discussed.

I have a sticker in my service booklet on the inside of the front cover that has a load of 3-character codes on it. I believe these are option codes and i've found a site that will decode these and list them in plain English. The site says it may not be 100% accurate though.

I hope this is useful to existing and potential RS4 owners. In fact, the site decodes option codes from any VAG group cars.

http://igorweb.org/equidec/Default.aspx

Apprently there is no letter 'O' in VAG option codes, it is a zero.

This may be useful if you want to check the original factory spec of the car. Putting my codes in, I get the following output:
E0A = No special edition
7A2 = CD changer
4UF = Drivers and front passenger air bag with front passenger air bag deactivation
6XD = Exterior mirrors: electrically adjustable/heated
5SJ = Left exterior mirror: convex

Just checked my option codes and I have a couple of options on the car that are not on my boot sticker - Black optics and auto dimming mirror. Do other people have these options on their sticker as I doubt they were retro-fitted to my car? I also cannot see a code for the type of steering wheel (multi-function vs FB) or the paint colour - should there be one?

2FS = Multi function steering wheel
2PX = FBSW (lists as leather trimmed sports steering wheel but ETKA confirms it is the FBSW)

radiator grille and window mouldings can be either;
4ZL = matt aluminium trim
4ZM = black trim

(they share the same option code so presumably not available separately)

roof bars can be either
3S3 = matt aluminium
3S2 = black

I suspect these have a separate code as they don't apply to saloon/cab

I find definitely on b6 & I think also b7 avants the data sticker is under the back seat base.
Just grab the corner firmly and pull up, be careful when refitting to get the bracket back in the slot rather than just outside it as the grommet that seals the hole will fall through into the abyss

Thanks Neckarsulm, I have the 2PX code (de-coder just calls this the sports steering wheel), but I don't have either 3S2 or 4ZM for my optics?

Is there any way of checking paint colour as my V5 just says silver so I want to check it is Avus pearl effect rather than just the metallic. I think it is Avus from looking at it but I've not seen the metallic to compare against.

Yes, I have the LY7J - is this the Avus code?

I also have the following codes in larger type: BNS, HNR, JMH, N5M/QM. Any ideas?

I have a date of Nov 06 on the sticker which I presume is the manufacture date (even though the car was not registered until Mar 07).

Many thanks for your help, Neckarsulm :beerchug:

Yes - it's pearl effect Avus rather than the regular metallic silver
