Sports Suspension Plus retro fit?
Sports Suspension Plus retro fit?
I read some time ago about doing this although I cant recall if it was cost prohibitive.
Has anyone done it and ifso what was the cost?

I imagine it will be very cost prohibitive. Aftermarket would be your best option

Somebody asked this a couple of weeks ago IIRC it was 12K just for the parts + labour on top !
Re: RE: Sports Suspension Plus retro fit?
No way - not for a £500 option. If it is right (which I'm sure it isn't) then I'll happily offer mine for £10k fitted!Ice_Coffee wrote:Somebody asked this a couple of weeks ago IIRC it was 12K just for the parts + labour on top !

Are the shocks the same on the SS+? Is it a case of new ARBs and springs or is there more too it?
RE: Re: RE: Sports Suspension Plus retro fit?
IMO, fwiw, go for a set of Coilovers, had ASTs on my Forester and Teins on my Evo....make anything handle like its on rails. When I find the right RS a set will be going on with some decent ARBs etc
Re: RE: Re: RE: Sports Suspension Plus retro fit?
I would be reluctant to do this because I found the DRC on my old RS4 very good and incredibly well damped for such a firm set up. I have not driven on an aftermarket set up so maybe others could comment.steve_70 wrote:IMO, fwiw, go for a set of Coilovers, had ASTs on my Forester and Teins on my Evo....make anything handle like its on rails. RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Sports Suspension Plus retro fit?
right then.
my saloon has ss+ and my now avant has normal suspension.
advantages of plus are handling, it really does stay flatter in the corners, and i felt much more planted with it. Disadvantages are ride, which is quite a bit firmer, and the car sits quite low at the back, which takes a bit of getting used to in a saloon..
i'd get some H+r springs and put those on..you get lower/handling and slightly firmer for a few hundred quid. easily reversible etc.
