DRC and auxiliary radiator advice

After 2 and half years of fault free motoring in my 46k miles 06 RS4, I have picked up a couple of problems. My front dampers have a bit of dampness on the struts (the rears are bone dry) and the nearside auxiliary radiator has developed a small leak.

Since the waranty ran out I have took the car to a VAG independant specialist in Leeds, rather than extend the warranty. Has anybody in a similar situation (i.e. out of warranty/using an indy for servicing) had any success in taking their car back to an Audi dealership in West Yorks with a view to making a DRC claim under the 5 year guarantee?

I like the car and plan on keeping it for many years to come. So, maybe a better option would be to ditch the DRC and have some coilovers fitted. Has anybody had any bad experiences with aftermarket suspension modifications, particularly in declaring it to their insurance company?

Lastly, has anybody on the forum had a go at replacing the auxiliary radiators?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

I had my front shock absorbers and DRC valve replaced FOC by Portsmouth Audi despite having taken my 2006 RS4 to an indi for servicing last year.
