Hi all,

I just bought and '06 '06 RS4 with no warranty, is it too late to get an Audi one?

If so has anyone had a good experience with any other warranty companys?

Cheers in advance

You can get an Audi warranty, but they will need to do an inspection on the car 1st (at your expense) and if all is well, you can buy the warranty at £1655 per annum.

I think it is what they call the 139 point check or somethiing. I would assume no more than 2 hours labour so less than £200? However, you could negotiate and tell them you will buy the warranty off them if they will do the check free or at a reduced rate.

They make a commission on the warranty, and of course they would want you to go to them for all warranty work.

win-win :)

Has the car ever had extended warranty, if so then Im guessing it has only just expired, the key is to over lap the warranty's. Is it a 102 point check they carry out? if so I think its around £190.

I extended my warranty over the phone. no dramas at all. limited mileage. option, then it was £1225. I will not be extending this year. £1600 in the RS4 slush fund me thinks.

My warranty is up for renewal now, but I'm also considering selling the car within the next 3-6 months.

What are people's views on how much the warranty is worth come sale time? Will it affect any part-ex values?

If I was definitely keeping the car I'd go for the warranty, but I don't fancy splashing out £1600 if its money down the drain in 3 months time.

it wont effect p/x...so if u intend to p/x then forget it

If you intend to private sale, i would recommend it, might not add much to the price but will help it sell easier....

I Spoke to Audi UK about a fortnight ago as i was looking at a RS4 registered 1 mar 2007.

Within 30 days of the warranty expiry was ok. I specifically asked and was told an inspection was not necessary. Beyond that they told me it wasnt possible to extend it with an audi warranty.

Considering the things that can go wrong, I'd snap their hand off at £1600, especially if you're going to keep the car!!

What that is covered under warranty though will go wrong? Most of the items that have gone wrong thus far are wear and tear unless it is a major electrical problem.

Fair comment. So maybe consider a non-Audi warranty that will be a lot cheaper and so you have a safety net in case anything major does go wrong and helps to sell the car. :)
