Fule addertives ?

Post by johninspain » Sat Feb 20, 2010 11:33 am

Anyone got any experience ? Weather it be the octain boost stuff or the cleaning stuff ? As i dont have any knowledge of the FSI motor i dont know if they would do the same job or if they would even run correctly through the motor, i dont just wanna sling one in and go for it !!! Thing is im always caught by the NICE pictures of (befor ) dirty valves and the (after) photos of nice shny ones !!! Pluss if there is a problem with carbon build up surely this stuff would help ?

If you are referring to the Wynns DIP3 I used the fuel additive but not the aerosol. Didn't like the prospect of all that potential crap going through the cats.

However I have been recommended another product that is better than DIP3, just can't remember the name of it. I'll post it once I'm back home.

Audi Dealers use TUNAP 173 micro logic which is Audi approved in Germany, specifically for FSi technology.

Never heard of that, and even if there was apparently makes no difference :)

Seriously - my Audi dealer suggested they put some additive in my car - part number is ZGLS003.

Audi dealers recommend it, cost about £20, and they suggest using it every 8k miles. More than that, I do not know. Have you asked your Audi dealer about it?

If it's snake oil, then it's £20 down the tank. Not a lot of money in the scheme of things. :)
