Exhaust manifold upgrade

Iv been thinking for a while now if the RS4 would benefit (if modified) from a exhaust manifold upgrade, does any one know of any manufacturers that make one for the B7 RS4?

You could get one fabricated up, but would guess that you would be a guinea pig. any one know what sort of power gains that would be had? From what I would guess, you would get good mid-range torque improvements, and a 8-10 bhp gain?

Full Miltek system with 200cell cats, down pipes and modified Manifold surely would sound amazing. :lol:

any one any comments?

I suppose it all depends on how good the original Audi item is - with rgds what power could be achieved.

I looked into this last year, in short yes there are improvements to be found but the cost put me off as I was told between 2-3k...if you have the cash being a Guinea Pig is fun :)

Some custom headers too would be good to go with that too!

Like Pippy, I was also put off the costs plus the propsect that on the RS4 it is a front off engine out job. Gains in the region of 20bhp though and similar torques.

If money isn't too much of a problem, would be worth it, as there's not alot in the B7 to get out! All adds up...

Better to spend the money reducing weight in an RS4 than try and get more power out of it. Take for example a supercharger at £15K+, that would be an entire CF front end plus CF wheels, titanium exhaust and probably ceramics if you are lucky enough to have that sort of money to throw at the car.

I`ve spent some decent time researching it. Gains will be there but you won`t see anything like +50 hp.
If we can get 4-5 people to want headers then I can talk to a fabricator and have him build them on my car.
I have a second car so I don`t mind.

I`m also looking into geting a custom exhaust done. And my nitrous kit arrived last week :)

So what are the custom headers (thought it was only turbos that had headers). I believe the engine will have to be dropped in situ.

Regards the SC, looked into that too, the PES S/C sounds like a bag of old nails imo but is cheaper, the MTM was i just pure sex, however at 22k is just a plain rip-off, considering performance is minuscule compared to price.

Has any one developed a turbo application or has any one tried it (I know space is scares).

I`m going to fit a nitrous kit. No turbo as of yet. Gonna try that when I have the cash.
Custom headers are the exhaust manifold. The word custom comes from the fact that they are produced in small numbers and are therefore hand-made.
Engine has to be dropped.

Sonny,

Bellow are a couple of links to a company that is located in California that goes by the name JHMotorsports.

I don't have any experience with them, but they seem to be pretty big on Audizine with their tuning of the B7 S4. Based on just about every post I've read, there is nothing but good things said about them.
The video in the first post will show the cars of some of the members on the forum, and some of JHM's products;

The reason I mentioned this company and their work with the S4 is because they also posted this;

I realize you live in the UK, but you mentioned headers and turbos.
