Water in the Oil?

Anyone suffered from water getting in around the oil filer cap during the recent snowy conditions.

I removed the filler cap on a test drive today and there was "mayoniasse" under the cap. (after we had been out in it)

We lifted the bonnet on an avant they had in and there was also water under cap. (This had not been started)

Had to top up my oil last week, there was absolutely no sign of mayonnaise under the oil filler cap when I took it off.

Mayonnaise is usually a sign of an engine not warming up fully due to short trips.

Would stand to reason, its been moved around on their forecourt, in and out of showroom over night, for a few months.

They agreed to change oil and filter before sale.

Sounds like it needs a good long run. Probably got a fair amount of water sloshing around in the exhaust too.

Evidence of water under the oil cap is common on low mileage RS4's that don't get long runs but shouldn't be a sign of anything more sinister.
