Are the brakes for the RS4 the same as the R8?

Post by midnyite » Mon Dec 07, 2009 9:11 pm

Are calipers and rotors interchangeable?
I was interested in running R8 Calipers on a S4 with RS4 2 piece rotors.
Anyone have this done before?
I tried searching but came up with nothing.

I know the part numbers are different but the calipers look exactly the same.

Any help is appreciated.

Happy holidays!

I think (but not 100% sure) that the calipers are the same but logod R8. The discs are the same size but are not the same style. Could be just an upgraded disc though.

As said caliper looks the same as the R8, maybe different caliper bracket.

Discs are definitely different. They look like the RS6+ jobbies, or more than likely Gallardo discs.

If you google the discs then you'll see that although the construction of the R8 and RS4 discs is similiar (split type), the drilled pattern is different.
Are the Gallado discs not drilled and grooved and are 365mm sized.

The Gallardo discs are not floating either and £700+ a piece!
