Hey guys and girls!
I am due to pick up my new (2006) Audi RS4 in Phantom Black on Saturday... and god am I looking forward to it!
Do you have any tips / pointers for living with one of these monsters?
Parking it, Driving it (operating it!), Living with it?
And fancy a wager on how soon I get some points on my Licence?
Si

I'd second that. I've had some quick cars in the past but there's always been a compromise somewhere with them (crap interior, unreliable, poor build quality etc etc). The RS4 has everything!
Put decent fuel in it! At all costs. Keep the oil checked and changed. Monitor the DRC (if you can) - esp in your one year warranty (if you're getting it from Audi). Watch your discs (although I've not experienced it myself - apparently the pads mark the discs when they get down to about 50% wear which is annoying - but it's cheaper to replace the pads than the discs!).
Most of all just enjoy it. You'll feel special every time you push that button and you'll get some great comments from other people about it. You'll also get some w@nkers who give you some stick but just let it go. They're not worth it and less risking your car.

Switch the TC off for good shifts between 1st-2nd.
Change your oil every 4K miles.
Figure out a way of getting in/out of the car without crushing your side bolsters - it is possible.
Don't take on GTR's unless you have the proverbial 1/2 mile headstart.

The best sound is exhaust vaccum pipes disconnected and on the overrun. I used to deliberatley hold the revs higher in second, take my foot off the throttle just to hear the sound.

As Jay says (SR71) change the oil on a regular basis. keep an eye on your tyre pressures, Only run her on either Tesco 99 or Shell 99 and try and stay clear of the plod......
Enjoy........

I want to see an instructional video for that on youtube.
I've had mine a month now, would echo everything said so far, I get much a much better reaction than I ever did in my M3 or the Z4M, but a lot of people want to take you on.
I love strting her up on a forecourt and watch peoples reaction and I haven't even got the Milltek YET, I was at the garage tonight and a 14 lad was practically dribbling over it.
I'm booked in for a sedate trackday at Silverstone on the 3rd November, come along.

Caldy, come on you should know, you don't need a long stretch of road to
get to 6th and then brake to a stop in our cars !!!!
How about the stretch of road, when it's clear, just past the Highlander pub
just before Belsay ???
Or turn left at the roundabout at Dobies towards Ponteland, nice straight
there, once again, only if you get a clear run
You got any favourite places to put the pedal to the metal ??
Max out

Much closer to home - A19 link from A1 at Seaton Burn to bottom of Spine Road. Graeme ( PG ) and I also used Cramlington Ind Est on a quiet Sunday afternoon to run our 0-100 times. As you say, these things are pretty quick and don't need much road. For the overall RS experience, still don't think that you can beat the trip over Hartside and down to Melmerby. You can embarrass some superbikes quite easily, especially if they cannot ride properly!
( sorry for the thread hijack! )

Yep, Cramlington Ind Est. was a bit of a find really and it kept the locals who were working that day entertained. They all came out to watch!
