B7 front air splitter

Hey folks!
Question about carbon front splitters. Does anyone know if they're production items? Know of a manufacturer? I've seen only a couple, but they look sharp and I bet would serve ample function with a little weight reduction on the front side.

Not production. IIRC somebody was going to manufacture one on here but I got mine from Youry who is based in Europe. Do a search on the forum and you should find it. I'm not sure if he is still making them.

Tartan Rob had made one for his car as well as a hobby which was supposed to be taken up by MRC and IIRC there was a guy with a number of factories in China who was suggesting he would make one as well as the rear diffuser, but to date none have come about.

I did wonder about just geting both the front and rear vinyl wrapped in CF pattern. Weight saving is nominal although Rob's was shaped differently and did allow more air to the cooler and the car ran 2-3c lower than normal.

I did do this and still have the mold but they need a bit of trimming. I made one for a mates car but his fittings were not in the same location as mine - ever so slightly out. This made bulk manufacturing a hassle unless people were happy to do some trimming and drilling themselves.

How easy / difficult is it to successfully trim and drill CF anyway?

A rear diffuser would be a nice aerodynamic item, however, I'm not sure how much function it would have in the white stuff...then again, I guess I'd really only have the front splitter for looks because it would also lose functionality in snow...unless it was strong enough to plough, eh? Haha

It is not that bad but you can easily shred your fingers if not careful and carbon shards are brutal. You'd also really need some bench equipment. Drilling is not too bad but a good titanium/high end drill bit is required with some kind of vice to hold the job steady.
