Good deal from Audi on oil

Post by bn8959 » Fri Sep 25, 2009 11:37 am

I just dropped in to Tetbury Audi to pick up an oil filter and asked what they'd charge for oil - expecting it to be a lot!

They said they normally sell VW 504 507 at £15/litre+vat, but the parts manager offered me it at £7/litre! So I picked up 11 litres for £88.55 all in :D Its Shell oil in 1l bottles, so I have a boot full now!

How much was the filter? I got quoted £26 for one which nearly made me fall over, its no different to any other £5 cartridge filter.my car has only done 4k since last service but fancied putting a fresh filter in it for a month or so then a pre winter inbetweenie oil change

Ermm, sorry to take the wind out of your sails but I picked it up for £3.90/litre by taking advantage of Opie Oils recent offer (now expired btw).

Yeah, they charged me £25 for the filter and seal. Couldnt be bother to argue, as the oil was cheap - or so I thought.

Interesting, sounds ridicously cheap. The cheapest oil on Opie Oils is £9.50 inc vat per litre. That was definately for VW504 507 spec?

I miss the UK a lot, but not the price of everything. Equivalent of £5 / l. incl tax is the standard price before special offers of Castrol 5W40 in Cali. You don't want to know the price of cars either.

Which offer was that Karl, TOPUP cost £8 per litre because that is what I did and the VAT free one wouldn't have brought it to that price either? Was it the August bank holiday offer?
