Is it really necessary to replace the flywheel as well as the clutch?

Sounds about right mate
I've just had my clutch replaced without the flywheel for £1150
I believe the flywheel costs around £600 ( you have a better deal than me! )
Most of the other cost is labour they estimate 10hrs (engine out job)

Grizz, would you recommend just using an OEM clutch or is there value in fitting a Sachs clutch and have you fitted one?

Oe is good and has a 2 year warranty.. Never fitted a sachs so cant comment..

I heard the 2 yr warranty doesn't exist on a clutch as wear and tear is the most likely cause for failure within 2 yrs

cheers folks,
i'm now faced with an even bigger problem, i had booked the car in for a service a week ago, also mentioned that the front shocks are leaking a bit (poor stability on a fast corner).
problem now is that i have been told that i won't have the car back until friday, problem with this is that i'm due on the Ring on saturday. then drive down to south of france for a family get together.
how long should it take to replace the 2 fornt shocks??????
not 3 days.
best of it is they can't get me a car of any kind, todate have spent over £1000 on boats, tunnels and hotels and i'm being asked would i take thet car back without the shocks replaced and take it in to them when i get back.
has anyone here dealt with Audi on these sort of matters, at the minute i'm snookered no car and everything else booked and paid for!!!!!!

They should be a next day order but they do need the car overnight to repressurise the DRC and let it settle and check again in the morning.
