Break Disc warped? Any ideas?
Break Disc warped? Any ideas?
Hi
Just noticed while slow breaking there is a slight vibrating noise/break judder. Having looked at the front left disc the outer perimeter of the disc can see a slight etching. Seems like its eating into the disc.
Any ideas?
Cheers

RE: Break Disc warped? Any ideas?
Fit other brake pads and it might remedy by itself. Other than oem. I run Ferodo ds2500 and i`m very happy.
I only know of a company up here in Newcastle that do the work. If you want to give me your discs they next time we meet up if you are not in a hurry I can get them to skim them for you?
I believe the price is gong to be around 40-50 quid for the pair to be done. Awesome GTi do on car skimming as well at 50+VAT which is supposed to be better than off car skimming as it give perfect allignment.

Klauster, just found this;

Put in your region and it will come up with all the garages that have brake lathes, most are Pro-Tech. Floating disks I believe form memory have to be taken off the car to do, the rear disks IIRC are one piece so can be done on the car.
Having my rear ones done next Thursday, I am so looking forward to judder free braking again!

Rotors
Go to this link http://jhmotorsports.com/shop/catalog/ this guys in california he makes alot of good stuff for audis and vw.
i bought the first set of rotors he made they work great and the dealer even put them on for me.
They are just the outer ring of the front rotor but they are slotted which will have more strength and less chance for warping. Also the cross drilled OEM rotors make circles around the rotor which may cause grooving in the pad.
it like these they are cheaper than OEM and look and work great.
tell him the Dimitri from philly recommend you
