Soon to be RS4 owner

Hello All,

My first post here, joined 2 weeks ago and been reading on a daily basis since. As a perspective owner the forum has certainly opened my eyes to a fews of the common issues that can be expected.

Im not entirely new to the RS4, the last company I worked for had a 'Car Club' for employees consisting of a RS4 Saloon, Mitsubishi Evo IX FQ320 and Vauxhall VX220 (unfortunately the VX220 got written off before having a chance to drive it). I found that the Evo was a rapid car, but attracted abit too much attention with it's extra loud exhaust and huge boot spoiler. The RS4 was superb, looked just right , sounds just right, comfortable and luxurious. Ever since driving it I've wanted to own one, and now i think im ready to take the plunge.

A car on Pistonheads got my attention, its not the typical spec, custom paint colour and custom leather trim make it a lil different.

Resale value of the car is important to me, do you think this car could be difficult to sell on? What do you think of the asking price? (Seems good to me)

Appreciate any comments

Gurj

PS. Below some pics of the Evo and RS4 in the "Car Club"

Gotta be only time I saw the RS4 look clean, just came back from the dealer after having it's 2nd clutch! (BTW it's a 07 plate and first clutch replaced under warranty)

well the car has 6 months warranty on it, which if I were you, I would extend with Audi for piece of mind. If it were a saloon then I would say its a bit expensive. But its an avant so am not sure, that maybe why its a bit more. Have you gone and looked at the car, test driven it, checked if anything has been changed under warranty, HPI checked it????

Not been to see as yet, its about 2h30m away and wanted to get some opinions before I made the trip.

Deffo agree with you in regards to the Audi warranty, its the only extended warranty I would consider and do intent to extend it on any car I do buy.

Im considering both Avants and Saloons, ideally with some warranty left, budget upto £33,000 Avant/ £31,000 Saloon. I dont really need the space of the Avant but I do like the body shape and they seem to hold there value well which is a plus.

DRC... check it out, will be a few grand to sort that out.
second clutch ALREADY? who has been driving it... The Stig? !!!!!

great cars but choose wisely and do your homework first, take someone who has 1 and take VAG COM and see if its got any faults.

good luck:)

If you're worried about resale, a regular on here recently sold his green Avant fairly quickly, although he is trader by the sound of it.
Personally, I reckon the interior will always divide opinion, but if you like it, use it to your advantage and get some cash off.
The solar sunroof is a nice little extra. I wouldn't have paid for it brand new, but mine's got it and I find it comes in really useful every few weeks when the car has been parked in the sun.

its the interior which would narrow your future buyers market. think the green colour is really nice.

I agree that the interior wont be to every buyers taste, however I do prefer the cream Alcantara/ Black leather combo than the plane black elec Recaros. If it had Buckets then it would be perfect IMO.

Did you buy the car in the end then or are you still looking?

Im due to see the car during the week. If it looks straight & drives well I should be taking it home same day. ( HPI is clear, not written off, no mileage discrepancies shown etc...)

The guy with the Green RS4 avant is gonna come down to show me his car tomorrow/Thursday...I'm hoping its a good car and will do a deal.

Just in case I don't go for it I'v seen this one on eBay from an independent dealer.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2006-AUDI-RS4-RS- ... 0355611193

A lil high on the miles but has 11 month extended warranty. If I can get him to take £27k for it, then this is my 2nd choice.

(BTW dash inlay is piano black, would prefer the CF)
