Amazing!

Just been at the dealers having laser alignment done, first time I've been there since I bought the RS4. I parked it right in front of the showroom with all the staff looking through the plate glass and then spent 2 hours hanging around the showroom and the forecourt while it was in the workshop. The only car I really looked at (several times!) was a new RS6 in the showroom (an avant in misano just like mine) but not once did any of the sales people speak one word to me about whether I might be interested in a test drive or even if I liked it! Surely an RS4 owner sniffing around an RS6 is a prospect? None of them seemed to have anything else to do and were chatting amongst themselves half the time. Is it me?

Nope.. they all know that anyone who's owned an RS4 will be a little dissapointed by the new 6.. they're just saving their energy.

I’m surprised that you are surprised by this, after all they have better things to like chat up the receptionists ;)

Not sure about anywhere else in the UK but in London customer service is non-existent.. You have to beg to be shown something.. Or take my approach and start playing with things until they come over to make you stop…

You could try hot wiring the car, that would get their attention. Then say that because no one was around the serve you it appeared to be self service!

Northfield Audi in Tetbury go out of their way to exceed expectations in Customer Service. They are like no other Audi dealer I've visited.

True, my father just collected his new B8 Avant from Tetbury and was very impressed. He flies out to Dubai occasionally though to experience a proper Audi, my RS4

Praise for Northfield Audi? Unless their performance has improved beyond belief I wouldn't touch 'em ever again, even with some else's barge pole.

I drove the RS6 a few weeks ago and the RS4 is a much better drivers car than the RS6. I wouldn't "upgrade". I understand why the sales guys didn't talk to you. Go back when the RS5 is there and I bet they will be fighing each other to help you out.

Visited a Nissan dealership just to enquire about a GT-R.
Was in showroom for at least 5 minutes with 2 salesmen talking and others sitting reading at their desks, they didn't even look at me never mind approach me.
I walked out without a word being spoken.
Nissan will spend millions on advertising to get people into their showrooms, think they should send out a team of mystery shoppers.
These people must have a basic wage set too high.
BMW were like this years ago but they have improved a lot

Well, all academic since I had/have no intention of changing, only ha the '4' for three months or so and have nowish to be in anything else. I was only looking at the '6' beause I was there and had nothing to do. Just though it was a strange way to (not) sell cars!

Most dealers are same - worst was TVR main dealer. Never gave me the time of day and when I did ask about trading in my Subaru, stated he "didn't want THAT"
Ended up buying a Skyline GTR - dealers loss.

Goes to show that car dealers on both ends of the world are from the same breed.

Just went to Lotus over the weekend to scout around for a track car. Walked in, saw nobody at the reception, 4 fellows was sitting in the lounge area chatting. Walked around and fingered and palmed every car there, still nobody.

Finally walked into the office area, saw a guy with "Operations Manager" on his door and straight asked him for info. Came back out together and he started asking the 4 fellows lounging to get me the info!!!! Those were the fecking sales persons! Imagine that?!
