Agree, I bought an 07 with just over 20k miles, could've had a lower mileage 06 but wanted the warranty, especially as I bought on the phone without seeing the car!!!!!!!

Go for the one with warranty

Apart from the peace of mind over any future issues there's also the fact that if the car is still in warranty the current owner will most likely have had any problems seen to as they arose, so less likely that they will be selling a car with faults.

Are they privet or dealership, If you really want the 06 plate any deal that can be done to put Audi warranty on it? cheapest is £1200 limited mileage, this is what I did. if the gap is to long before warranty they may wish to do a pre-inspection on the car. what's the price difference between cars?

The price difference is £2.5k the 07 being the more expensive.

The 06 has slightly better spec with tech pack and has been serviced twice. It is at a dealer but not an Audi dealer, I will get 3 months from them. It has 10,300 miles.

The 07 has had one service and doesn't have the tech pack. This one is private and still has finance outstanding on it so not sure how that will work.

So would it be better (if going for the cheaper 06) to save the £2.5 in an ISA etc or try and purchase warranty? I didn't know it was possible if it wasn't bought straight after the manufacturers ended.

Oh tough one! is it 100% between these two or could there be other options out there?

I alway say condition plays a big part. does the 06 look ok is it in good nick? how does it's overall condition compare to the 07 and visa versa?

It isn't 100% between these two. I have just been to see the 07 this afternoon and I will be seeing the 06 tomorrow.

Is it normal for black smoke to come from the exhaust when you start up first time?

It is not possible to buy an Audi Approved Warranty after 3 months have elapsed since the original warranty expiration - unless you want to pay £2700 for only a named component warranty.

Id say condition is the biggest factor, and price ofc... there are also the facelift headlights to consider

Ok 3 months aint bad then, at least you can extend when it does run out, s it will over lap, and no need for a pre inspection, again as I said before the warrenty can be picked up for 1200 quid, some chaps on here use warrenty Direct. As Jim said, if the 06 one is in better nick then why not go for it, and its also a better spec, think off the money you save can towards the warrenty!

What is the difference in the headlights (apart from indicators being clear)?
