Blowing Chunks!

Post by gogsyp » Mon May 04, 2009 7:38 pm

Having a great drive on the way home after a weekend with the family in the Lake District, my 5 year old son mentioned the fact that he was feeling sick. Before I could even pull over I heard the dreaded wretching noise coming from behind me. I knew it was going to be bad by the fact that the vomit had come through the two holes either side my head rest!

I've cleaned the car but I still can't seem to shift the smell of puke, it's mostly coming from down near the seat belts.

I'm worried if I go overboard with the 'Detox' I'll ruin the leather.

Has anyone got any tips???

Gordon

Febreeze should get the smell out of the fabric areas. You might want to ask around on how to remove the rear bench, then start cleaning fabric areas with Febreeze, and leather areas with a leather cleaner and after that, a leather conditioner.

I've had this to deal with also. Try and use a vax on the fabric areas. Leather cleaner and conditioner for the seats. The worst area I found was the seat belt. Had to clean it about 50 million times ( at least thats what it felt like!). This was in the wifes landcruiser tho.

Dont not use fabreeze as this will just mask the smell and when it wears off the smell will come back. My company deals with odour elimination and you need a product that actually breaks down the smell. A great product is Odour Kill manufactured by www.alltec.co.uk

I’ve managed to get rid of the smell. I went to Halfords & got some de-odouriser & after dragging a work colleague to have a ‘sniff’ the smell has now gone.

Thanks everyone for the tips.

Gordon
