Andy as an owner of your previous brand looking to buy an RS4 be very interested in what your experience is on this. Just about coping with clogged up intake and possibly buying a 314bhp RS4 to sort out and then maintain ;), but this issue is the one really putting me off buying my dream car.
From what I have read here there appears to be no permanent fix - this would be more bearable if the repair was either cheaper or guaranteed to last a reasonable period or be covered by Audi/your dealership aftersales.
Hoping things turn out well for you, keep us posted.

Is that only guaranteed dependent on whether you have a bought a car with 'the letter' from Audi saying they will warranty that car for 5 years? Hoping I'm wrong :)

Thankfully you are

All UK B7 RS4s are covered. Most dealers know this, but some (mostly in the past) didn't - hence the letter was a useful reminder

Take the plunge - you wont be sorry!

To summarise there is a one time fix to change to KW3 etc etc ...The Porsche RMS issue, there is no such fix .. the 996/997inc Gen 2 will always have a leak at somepoint.

Andy, looking at your pics it would appear the leaking may be within normal parameters, they have to look 'wet' rather than discoloured.

I may be wrong, but don't be surprised if that is the view your dealer takes. That is what mine looked like originally at the front, it was only when they looked like someone had just poured fluid over them they replaced. Yours look like someone has poured fluid over them and it has dried if you understand what I mean?

Andy,

I suggest you get the WD40 out and start spraying...

That should get you a new set.
