O means it's an Oxfordshire number - which includes Milton Keynes (according to the bizarre logic of the DVLA!) where Audi UK are based.

I'm not tempted by the RS6; from all the press I've read it lacks feeling, the driver feels somewhat detached so I won't be tempted. Quite happy with the 4.

Most of the reviews of the RS6 say that it's so uninvolving to drive that you can be going much faster than you realise with no sensation of the speed.

I want a car that involves me - and on that basis the RS4 beats the RS6.

Unfortunately thought the practicalities of RS4 ownership with two growing children and lack of rear leg room mean that I will also at some stage be considering an RS6 saloon, albeit that is a few years off yet.

I had the Saloon on test drive last friday for about 4 hours. Loved the power delivery, so smooth but it did lack a sense of urgency, although the needle very quickly went around the clock. I enjoyed the room and the space in the back was fantastic compared to mine with buckets. The only thing was that it seemed far too quiet. Think I would want to hear a real growl coming from a V10 twin turbo. After driving it, I got back into mine, which I had left at Audi, mine felt a little slower but 100% better in terms of sound. Would still love the 6 tho... eventually!

I am thinking about it, even more so now as the value of the 4 seems to be holding up while that of the 6 keeps falling.
I know I would miss the nimbleness of my car, but I fear the rear legroom will become more of an issue as my daughter keeps growing.
Another option for me could be the new S4 Avant, which looks a bit bigger in the back.
Not driven either though, so it's still early days in the 'what's next?' game.

I suspect that after the RS4 the S4 would feel very "tame".

I had 2 B6 S4s before my RS4 and within 6 months of owning them I felt the need for more power, still haven't felt that after nearly 3 years of RS4 ownership.

I know what you mean. I could see myself buying an S4 and then changing it as soon as the B8 RS4 turns up. Which wouldn't be that clever moneywise I suspect.

Don't bet on there being a B8 RS4, reading between the lines of comments made by Audi bosses at recent motor shows suggests that the next RS4 will be based on the B9.

isn't the B9 just going to be a facelifted B8?
