Prices holding up....

.....I got the latest Glasses Guide today, and the RS4 has actually gone up in value, only by £500 or so, but considering the last two months it has lost nearly £3k a month, it proves what I have been saying - The bargain RS's have come and gone, so be quick if you are looking to buy. Great news for me, as I purchased mine when prices were rock bottom in December!
In fact a lot of cars have levelled or gone up slightly.

thats not great. A couple of my friends are in the trade and said Ford Ka's are going for £600 over book and a merc went for £10k over book. No one knows what the heck is going on with prices at the mo'!
Noticed on pistonheads nearly all the sub £15k RS4 B5 are sold!

Prices got too cheap for most cars, all the bargains have been snapped up and now prices are levelling - which is a good thing for the economy and the motor trade (me).

oli, i think your right but what must help keep prices up on any marque is how many of a type of car is available and how many punters are after that motor. [high demand not much choice higher price and visa versa]

To be fair, its most cars that have levelled or gone up this month, not just the RS. We have had tohe busiest start to the year for a long time.

Of course, they have to stock them and may have to wait months to get the right trade in at the right price and a customer who can get the finance, to take in to px against it
The sh*t could still hit the fan again, who knows where the bottom is ?

I'm telling you we've hit the bottom on cars prices, on all/most s/h cars and the prices are now going up.

I suspect 2nd hand prices are stabilising because no-one is buying new cars and instead searching for 2nd hand value, this combined with cheaper fuel prices is driving demand. Wouldn't want to predict what might happen tomorrow though..
As for trade-in values, the dealers have always screwed the customer credit crunch or no credit crunch. What has changed?

The cheaper end of the market is were all the action is at the moment, new car market has almost stalled and everyone is all over the bread and butter cars,i bought an 02 focus and flicked through autotrader to check were i would price it and found ford main dealers hanging on to and retailing w plate focuses almost unheard of.

Its good rs4 prices have firmed but not that good if an 06 saloon with average miles booked at 22k in december and binned a further 5-6k in jan and feb surely they cant be booking in the teens already? Or was it the later end taking a hit? Im hoping they stabalize as i have to decide on selling my main 2 cars a b5 rs4 and 05 mini cooper s and run just 1 rs4 b7,its nearly gsxr1000 time and i really cant justify running all 3 im only home at weekends
