Where have all the RS4's gone?

Has anyone else noticed that Audi seem to have very few RS4's for sale on the web? I always keep an eye on prices to see how mine is depreciating. Does this mean that dealers may be looking for good examples and maybe a good trade in might be achieved? OR are dealers just not interested in taking them in at the moment?

Probably the 2nd suggestion.

I tried a buy back from my dealer and he offered £30,000 ONLY if i bought an A4 S Line Avant at £29,000 and my RS4 has done 7,000 miles ONLY!! The A4 would drop 25% by registering it so i declined his "kind" offer!

Took mine in with a view to swapping for an avant in Jan due to getting a dog, Dealer told me he was not going to insult me with an offer for mine! I will be keeping mine for atleast another year now.

There are more R8s (61)on Pistonheads for sale than there are all the different RS4s (60) you can get. They all seem to have held their prices now for the last couple of months, with the B7 Avant looking like it has started to climb back up.

I personally think that these cars will not go any lower, mileage permitting. I also think that prices will go like CSL prices have gone, ie firm up with a premium being paid for late low mileage mint cars.

Exactly what I found with my CSL, had a mint 7k miles one that I sold for £43k

i think the answer is in the question... it is all about supply and demand [market flooded brings prices down, lack of choice will keep prices higher] i think we are lucky because they dont make em any more, less choice straight away the car is not dated in looks or engine so demand should be there. IMO

And I'm sure with the impressive power on tap/ and overconfidence in quattro the number of available RS4's is declining on a daily basis ........ Unless you want a cat d?? :?

The one thing that may change it is if they produce an RS4 (B9,B9 whatever) with a V8 twin turbo 4.2 tfsi engine in it as is beleived to be going in the RS5. Im holding out for the RS5 and have my name down. I think if they beef up the mule car pounding round the ring it will be an awesome car. Just hope it happens as it is the only car I would consider buying new again.

IMHO the A5/S5 look too wide and just, well, lardy. I don't see the RS5 looking any better.

Just a personal opinion...

I thought the complete opposite (its good we all see things differently :) ) in that the S5 just looks long and does not fill the arches very well, lovely from the side but a bit weedy looking from the back. The car magazine mock ups of the red Rs5 are how I imagined it to look. I think if they get those arches flared right like the Rs6 it will look stunning. But this is for another post really.
I cant imagine the B8 in RS guise it just doesnt have the agressive looks of the B7 from the outset.

Completely agree, not only is it completely anonymous it's cramped inside. It's pointless - why would anyone buy a RS5 over an R8?

I really detest the A5 there is nothing stylish about it, often I come up behind one and think it's an A4. It's a car for Solicitors.

What we should do is target all RS4s which aren't members of this site and sledge hammer their roof thus writing them off.

It's my own take on Goldfinger's attempt to increase the price of gold......

You do know they havent released it yet dont you? The only reason I say that is how could you call it anonymous when the final version has not been seen?
I would also say that you could not get a more anonymus looking car than an s4 but look what they did with the RS4, they made a few very subtle changes to the car and it looks brilliant.
I couldnt afford an R8.
The A5 shell has back seats for a baby and a large boot and bags of room in the front. I think you have got mixed up with the recently shown TTRS.
