looking to purchase rs4

hi guys. im looking at purchasing a rs4.

im stuck between the two- the salon or the cab!?

They both have there advantages and drawbacks!

but cant decided! the cab is looking good so far because i go to puerto banus, spain for 4months in the summer and take the car. so would be gd to get the top down for that period and when i come home to scotland thats it up till the next year.

where as the salon is more everyday, going away with the boys to play golf it would be easier! but wouldnt enjoy it as much in the summer as i would have the cab! Plus the rs4 in glasgow would seem a bit of a wee drug dealers car (even i know its not!!!!!!!)in the salon style. But the cab would be very quite and not everyone would notice it!

would like to hear from you guys to get some feed back

cheers
n5hrt

Just go for an Avant - much better looking than the others and you will get all your kit in it for going to Spain

Or better still, an Avant with a solar roof, open air motoring when you need it, solar roof to keep the car cool in PB when the car is not in use.

Saloons are more likely to be stolen for use in robberies (at least that's true here "down South"), cabs are hair dressers cars, so it has to be an Avant - with a sun roof.

I'd go all out hairdresser!

I have a cab and it looks as hard as nails unlike your average cabriolet!

I can get my clubs in the boot with ease if I take the driver out...

So an Avant with air con and a solar sunroof is gonna be the best option then...

No, a Cab looks more fun. :smile_smoking: I assume they all have A/C which is obviously a must have.

I must go to Malaga about 50 times a year, although sometimes it can be 5 times a week...

I can't think of anything better than a solar sunroof when its 45C outside.

F**k having the top down when its that hot!

You need a saloon though not a "slipper wagon" as the S2Forum boys says...

Having come into my RS4 saloon from an M3 Cab I obviously did think about going the same route again and looked very closely at buying an RS4 cab. However at the time when buying new I found it hard to justify paying 10k more for a slower vehicle.

If you do plan to be in Spain for 4 to 5 months in high season SR71 is right there is no way you will want to drive around with the top down and take a roasting from the sun! The other problem with hot countries is Dust! My mate has a C2S cab out in Spain and it's a nightmare. The interior of the car is always full of dust and sand.

I personally think the solar roof is a must have up to you if you go for saloon or avant. If you’re under 40 maybe a saloon if you have a pipe and slippers and are pushing 50 then maybe the avant is a better choice! :D (Pulling your legs guys before you all start!!) But in all seriousness I think only you know what you want, we can only give opinions on our own experiences. If you do buy a cab though don't be surprised if you have the top down more in the UK than you do in Spain that's all our say.

Good luck with your choice and welcome to the forum
