Help - fault code 006435

Post by ducatiman » Sun Feb 15, 2009 2:13 am

Hi folks,

I plugged a VAG COM and discovered the ff code

005435 pls check DTC memory of ECU. P1923 implausible signal.

Car runs fine. Is this something I should fret about?

Thanks in advance!

Search for codes in both modules Engine I and Engine II. If the DTC memory code is the only one there, then I'd just clear it and be done with it. But sometimes the implausible signal accompanies an additional fault i.e., it would show up in the slave ECM (Engine II) if there was an actual fault, such as a misfire, in the master ECM (Engine I) and vice versa I think.

Ross Tech wiki normally helps, but it seems a bit vague on this one...

Ducatiman,
My experience and what the above link tells me is that you have to check what fault code is showing up in Engine module 2. The implausible signal fault usually shows up during a fault check in module 1. It can't be cleared when you're in module 1; you have to go to module 2 and clear codes. So you have cleared codes in both modules and it keeps returning without a MIL (CEL)? That is indeed strange.

Thanks Dom81 for the link.

SilverRS4 - I'll try again.

Anyway - I was going to remap my ECU but the tuner saw this fault and asked me to research whether or not this could be a detterent in the remap.

What do you think?
