I to have noticed this, it sounds like white noise or static etc! i wonder if there is still power to the Bose amp, after the system has been turned off.

matthew, how long ago did you notice it? it obviously aint supposed to be like that, and must start draining the battery down.

Guys, this is NORMAL behaviour with Bose (which is standard on the RS4) and the RNS-E sat nav.

The sat nav turns on as soon as you unlock the car, while the screen stays blank until you turn on the ignition the amp is turned on immediately - so when you get in the car you will hear the amp hiss.

When you turn off the ignition and remove the key the RNS-E screen goes blank but it and the amp stay on until either 30 minutes have passed or you lock the car - so you will hear the amp hiss after you remove the key from the ignition.

To check everything is OK, sit in the car and lock it, you should hear the hiss stop. If it does then everything is OK.
