A limited number were made to celebrate Audi's trouncing of the german DTM touring car season and are much rarer than the B7 RS4. Basically 2.0l turbo 220BHP quattro saloon with different wheels, bumpers, boot spoiler, exhaust, recaro seats and alcantara on the inside (steering wheel, gear lever and handbrake). I seen a couple 1 in sprint blue (wicked colour but noggy better) and 1 in silver. This was serious contender before getting an S4 but all the alcantara put me off, it looks manky after a while, needs washing and shaving (material bobbles!) to keep it looking okay.

Compared to 2.0l turbo S-line Special Ed, the DTM is substantially over-priced for what you get IMHO, got a similar age S4 for same money at the time.

Bluethunder took one for a spin at the northwest rolling road day. Sure he be able to comment. Very nice looking car with all the carbon bits.

Victor, the son of the owner of the Indian Ocean Tandoori on Marine Avenue in Whitley used to have a sprint blue DTM but every time he saw me in my S4 he'd always wave, pull alonside and say he was going to be buying an S4 or RS4. Like said the alcantara is an issue as was the initial price and it drank petrol like an S4 if not worse, I'm sure he said he averaged 16 mpg.

He must have had a heavy right foot. My old S-line Special Edition quattro had the same 220bhp engine and I usually got 30+ mpg.

There was a DTM edition for sale in the showroom when I got my RS4. I thought it looked fairly tacky. 'Each to his own' I guess.

May well have, but if he is trying to keep up with S4's, RS4's, M3, C63's et all that proabably why it is 16 mpg. I knew of someone who had a normal 1.8T A4 Avant and his returned no better than 19mpg and he didn't have a heavy right foot! Also depends on the car

I look after one , They are lite & nimble .It's got a hi pressure fuel pump , full milltek and custom code remap .It's surprisingly quick. It's having a turbo job in a few months so it should be very quick with 400 + bhp .

there's a sprint blue one in Chingford Audi, been there for bout 6months + now. Price has been reduced, not sure what its at now thou. Someone could probably bend them over if they were cash buyer

I would have been interested before I got my RS but it didnt have RNSE and only had single din radio, so would be expensive to upgrade.

Cant believe the 16mpg !! He'd have been better off in an B6 S4 !

I sold one in the summer and was very impressed with it.
Lovely chassis with some of the RS4 neutrality, not too harsh
It was in Sprint Blue too and had RNS-E, bluetooth, bi-xenons.
Standard Recaros were nice too
It would top 30mpg easily on 98 RON thanks to FSI
Only downside was that you felt that some little chav would try and rip the spoilers off it and at £400 each that would be annoying!
I'll definitely get one when they are £10k, it was £18k back then and dropping like a stone.
