mileage or age???

I am looking at purchasing an RS4 in January and am torn between two at the moment.

They are both the same spec and price but:

One is Mar 07 - 29,000 miles

and the other is May 06 - 17,000 miles

What is more important, miles or age???

mileage every time for me, but more likely the general condition would swing it.

Tbh that is the answer I wanted.

The higher mileage is from an Audi dealer and the lower is private but he is a mate and I know he has looked after it etc.

I was merely considering the higher mileage one as I could go with a PCP to finance it whereas with the private sale I can't.

Do you know how much this'll be?!

You'll get a year's used car warranty with the dealer anyway no?

Quick look at the service book will tell you how it's been driven and where.
Mine gets a hard time with lots of town (and short) journeys so has just been serviced at 11.5k and thats on the longlife!

Someone who is more steady, I expect the interval would tend to be greater.

Also my April 07 has clear front indicators, I doubt the 06 has. A small point I know.

General condition would definately swing it for me rather than small difference in mileage. Tyres, stone chips, alloys, leather, boot cleanliness etc.

Hi Djt,
I think you can do a pcp on a private purchase i used Jammie Garside at www.performancecarfinance.co.uk to purchse my Audi RS4 this year and i can highly recommend them, it is worth a call they are more competitive than Audi Finance. Also keep a look at www.fontain.co.uk audi used car specialist they get some nice cars, my car supplied by them has been perfect. It was imculate when i collected it plus they do a comprehensive check of the car.

Extended Warranty is 1200 or 1500 pounds depending on what option you opt for, Warranty Direct do it for about 500-600 GBP, yes if from a dealer then ask them for a years Warranty, best of luck

Cheers for all the replies fellas.

Thanks also for the heads up on PCP providers.

I know the condition of the private is spot on and it has been serviced correctly.

I will obviously go over the vehicle with a fine toothcomb before I buy.

The condition of the wheels really wouldn't put me off between two vehicle, I reckon mileage is far more important on cars like these as it's general wear and tear.

Yes the wheels look good but I fin't is sooooo anal to be cleaning the inside of the alloys like that!!! I'd rather get the older vehicle with lower miles even if the wheels
were a tad mucky, at least the car can be detailed for under 500 notes back to the same condition as the newer vehicle.
