B7 RS4 Saloon at auction today...
There were 3 B7s out of 250 cars today at an Audi Finance sale, all going through late, I was around for lot 180, a red b7 RS4 saloon with buckets, nav in misano red
E*06 *** reg.
35k miles.
Looked very tidy, some minor wheel marks but otherwise mint.
No service book or any history available, no logbook either so presumably a reposession.
It made £27000 + buyers fee of prob around £400 for a private buyer which is around £2k over guide for car with all its documents.
Considering there are similar cars for under £30k through dealers that seemed ridiculously steep especially as there may be no warranty left due to irregular servicing and the buyer has had no test drive.
I do suspect prices have bottomed out now, for a bit anyway.

Not sure if that is a good price or not, for what it is its cheap as chips, but no log book/service book would put a lot of people off including myself...sorry did you say you bought it?
Money can't buy you love, but it can buy you a well sorted racecar

The buyer over paid for an auction car with no docs. IMHO
It is strange how the avants seem to hold their value better!

Not strange - Avants are the only "real" RS's.mikey_k wrote:It is strange how the avants seem to hold their value better!

I didn't buy it, it's far too close to retail price considering the risks involved (if clutch is f**ked no warranty will cover it).
And by the time a logbook comes and you can tax it, it may well be worth a lot less.
I wouldn't buy an RS6 saloon but the B7 does look good especially in Clarkson red (though I would prefer an estate).

Thats strong money imho it should be behind book given it circumstances 24-25k max as you say could have some immediate maintenance due that you wouldnt know until you drove it,im guessing a private purchaser had it

Its started at £20k.
I think people think the week before Xmas is the time to grab a bargain at auction and assume they can't go wrong.
I'd say it was a private buyer yes.
Imagine having to wait 6 weeks before you can (tax it and thus) drive it!

They probably dont know what hassle no docs will cause them
RE: Re: B7 RS4 Saloon at auction today...
Very much over paid for that! You can get one from a dealer for £28,500 if you haggle, and it comes cleaned up with warranty and ready to go, so he only "saved" £1100 - muppet.
I'd have valued it at £24,000 considering the lack of paper work.
What did the others fetch?

Audi Finance at BCA Measham, 250ish cars, many boring models, the odd interesting one.
