Was supposed to be going with a mate to Stirling Audi tomorrow to look at an 07 plate Phantom Black RS4 Avant. 10k on it for just over £42k. Dealer rang last night to say it was sold! There's another one (avant too) coming in by the end of the week in "dark blue" (Muggello?) 07 again with 14k for the same money supposedly slightly higher spec (other one had tech pack), they phoned this morning to say someone else is also interested in that too!!!! Blimey, these things are still flying off the forecourts in no time!!!

Can I ask how I would know what, if any ecu upgrades the car has had/requires??

Anything else I should be asking?

Ask the Audi tech at the dealer, they will have all the data on the car ...... oh and check the oil on it ... in fact ask for an oil change before you buy whatever they say. Look at the pads ... they have nasty pins in them when they get low

some remaps are invisible to diagnostic machines?

Norman ask things like why is it back so soon? outstanding finance, damaged, etc.... you still keeping yours??

Perth Audi have mine, handed it back yesterday (SP07 AYX). Mugello Avant, privacy glass, Sat-Nav with 6-CD, GSM phone prep and Armrest. 13k on the clock. They suggested it was sold already though, hence my trade price received.

your looking at a dealers when theres a bargain just up the road!

ps the one in perth was a dec 07 so one of the last ones and should have the 080 software imho.

There have been to ecu software upgrades AFAIK - sw0080 and sw0090.

Also after talking to some tuning companies at Audi International, some aftermarket remaps are indeed undetectable (at the moment at least!)

think sw0090 is only applied if car has had cold running issues as i'm led to believe its a pain to remove at a later date.
