I have an 06 RS4 that has developed a shudder with light braking between 20-50MPH.

Audi have replaced front discs, pads, calipers, one front wheel, and still the problem persists.

Any ideas!

i had same problem, Audi gave mine a good clean and it seemed to make it less noticeable, although it hasnt gone entirely.

Have always had a slight judder on light braking, but clears on normal driving !!

I think a bit of brake abuse in called for to remove the build up on the disks quite road and brake really had a few times should cure it

Take it back to Audi, got mine replacerd under warranty for exactly the same reason

You'll find this happening if the car is ran in town's alot stop start driving the disks need to be worked hard to clear off any build up cased by this i would try the hard breaking first then if no joy take to the dealer

I have a similar issue with my 07 RS4. It's now with VAG in MK while they try and sort it. The dealers replaced the discs three times, and wheel bearings once - to no avail!

I can only hope cleaning the discs works for you... my experience is turning into a horror story. I'd have requested a replacement car by now if they were still making them!!

What was the outcome of this thread as I have the same problem. I purchased VAG original RS4 discs and pads from DSGWAGEN and got them fitted by a local garage, how do I stand on replacements as they are shuddering after 4/5 weeks usage and I refuse to spend another £800 on the pads and discs again. Any thoughts chaps!?!?

Oh dear buddy, I feel for you. That was the exact same situation which led to me selling my RS4. Audi did not want to know as the fitting was done by an independent (APS). The fault was nothing to do with the fitting or the discs and pads as I had only had them replaced about 2-3k prior to the wheel juddering arising. In the end, I couldn't be arsed to argue so sold the car back to them. The possibilities include (thanks to SimonC for his help with this):

1. Sticking caliper piston(s)-only when hot.
2. Contaminated fluid causing resistance in master cylinder/ABS/caliper/pipework
3. Overtightening wheel bolts
4. Wheel bearing (disc not true to caliper).
5. ABS sensor
6. Unbalanced wheel (s)

Disc warping is a bit of a non-phenomenon. They will likely keep replacing bits until eventually they will fix it by accident. For me, it completely ruined the driving experience and led to getting rid of the car (putting a deposit down on a GT-R helped). You could try your luck with audi customer services and see if they play ball, or claim the parts were faulty via your fitter...and have them replaced under the individual part warranty.

I have a similar problem with the front brakes, after braking hard`ish the brakes buzz at low speeds for a few minutes. This must be that the piston has got a little stuck and is not releasing totally, please correct me if I am wrong as I plan to take it to the stealer's on Monday. What surprises me is that this is on the ceramic brakes and the car has a little over 10K on the clock.

I had two sets of discs in 3k miles the second set settled down and were fine, only did 3k miles before I got rid so dont know how they were after that...

Sorry for butting in guy's, I am new to this. I have also been having problems with my brakes for a while now vibrations at various speeds, the car has been into stealers for numerous repairs from suspension links to new front shocks and front CV joints. At first the main stealer in Aberdeen agreed to replace the front disc's under warranty, but now they have decided not to. Any advice would be most appreciated.
