Could It Be DRC Again??

I'm hoping to hell it's not, but had some very odd spirited moments over the weekend (had not driven the car in anger since she's been serviced & had front shocks replaced).

Without boring you with every detail, a sharp left i've taken many times at the same speed, this time had my rear end scrabbling for grip & 4 wheel drifting around it (quite out of shape). Next taking a fairly gentle right hander at speed, the car started again drifting & pretty much lost traction.

The roads were bone dry & my tyres are the correct psi & plenty of tread.

TBH the back end just never felt as tight as it used to (if that makes sense), as their always appeared too much drive to the rear

Nothing has changed on the car other than a full service & of course the front shocks replaced along with the relevant cylinders. The dealer & Audi refused to change the opposing shocks, stating it is not a requirement on the RS4.

Anyone got any ideas??

Can't get into a dealers for a couple of weeks as i'm mucho busy, but could do with some pointers as she felt far from grippy the 1st time i've pushed her since leaving the workshop.

Could it be the alignment? if they dont realign then they tend to mark and put back.

Forgot to say all 4 wheels were fully re-furbed (nice job) & yes the dealer did get the tracking & alignment checked, i however doubt as they only charged me £30ish that it was the top drawer alignment check. I had no issue with traction before the front shocks were replaced, just knocking on re-bound & when investiagted the dealer found both front shocks were leaking.

You don't get a full 4 wheel alignment for £30 Paul. well if you do then let me the address. I've seen prices as low as £60 but never £30.

Sounds like it handles the same as an M3

Insist that the 4 wheel alignment is done properly, if you remove suspension components I doubt very much whether they go back in the exact same place even when marking. A full alignment done by a proper set up will cost 100+, Ive sat with a perfectionist who did mine and he took a good 2.5 hours.

To clarify, i did not have a 4 wheel alignment done during the warranty work etc. I thought i'd requested one on my list (if required), but i was defo not charged for one, just a regular balance after the wheel re-furb & that of course was not £30.

The car is going in on Friday to be checked & have a full 4 wheel alignment done (thanks for the call Rob), so i'll report back then.

Well the full 4 wheel alignment was done today (thanks Rob) & the nearside rear toe-in was out very slightly, although this was unlikely to be enough to cause the lack of rear wheel traction. Some of the other values were out a touch but were within guidelines.

All values correct now & i'll see how she performs over the next few days.

Keep us posted mate - I'm seeing exactly the same symptoms on my '06 car (only done 15K miles and the current tires are decent) ...... cheers

that wont happen the name m5 killer is because of my alpina B10 BI-turbo 560 bhp and 850nm so m5 m6 current ones can only see my dust

and my middle finger salute, the salute is just the icing on the cake as they see my dust
