What are your favourite bits of the rs4

Post by ARSEY4 » Mon Feb 25, 2008 4:07 pm

Seeing as though the rs4 bashers are out in force with stupid negative comments like "I spent 50k on my car and i really wanted a 2 door convertable turbo car" and "The m3 is cack and so is the rs4, they both feel slow" i thought id ponder on the positive merits of rs4 ownership.
1) Ridiculous corner exit grip
2) Speed and the way it makes it feel so easy to get there so quickly.
3) Just love firing it up in the morning and the sound when slowing down in gear (pipes off)
4) So few around
5) Comfortable even with ss
6) agressive looks
7) the way petrol heads love them and normal folk have not got a clue what it is.
8) brakes.
Could go on but im sure you can add to it.
PS Ill give it 3 posts before the village idiot shows up.

8.) looks fairly subtle and not too aggressive - slightly at odds with 6) but explains 7)
9) ability to bring back large amounts of cheap French wine bought directly from the vineyard - especially in an Avant
10) ability of "grandad in his estate car" to make the chav look a complete idiot in the "traffic lights grand prix"
11) first car I've owned that I've not felt was underpowered within a year

How subtle it is, my gardener even asked me if it was a diesel :) That is the over riding factor for me.

People walk past and just nod knowingly.

Kids had no interest in it till it was on Top Gear

Speech Dialogue System.

Quite a few RS4's have it as standard but this is going to be retro fitted to mine - it wasn't (as far as I know) fitted to Cabs as standard but I could be wrong - something to do with the wind noise once the hood is down.

Window down, the sophisticated murmur of a V8 with resonated Miltek in 3rd with Janet & Luther quietly in the background teliing me that "the best things in life are free" - not.

the noise especially with the valves now disconnected
the buckets
the steering wheel
the noise it makes when I turn the ignition off
the power delivery and the way it picks up again at 5000 revs
fast enough out the box (but still I APSed it)
the beepers front and rear as std (damn handy in London)
the optics pack
the subtle but aggressive front and swollen arches
the lovely alloys
that little pad and pen holder in the glovebox

I love the fact that I can turn up to a meeting in it and people don't hate me!! they either know what it is and love it or think it's just a blue Audi A4. You just couldnt do that in a 911........ Awsome!! Not to meantion the fact that you can take all your mates in it and still beat pretty much most things on the road..... What a car!!! :D
Current car..... hmmmmm????
