Hi All,

New to the forum so thought i'd say Hi.

After test-driving lots of cars recently i have decided to switch from my 350z and purchase an RS4 and what better place to come for advice than here.

So here goes, is there anything in particular I should be looking for with regards to the health of the car before purchase. or there any known updates or procedures that the car should have under gone?.

On another note, can anyone recommend any dealers in or around London other than the Sytner group?

Any advice is much appreciated.

I would thoroughly recommend Harold Wood Audi on the A12 Colchester Road in Essex. Have bought my last three Audi's including my RS from there and the service has been top drawer.

Sales Consultant was Nick Clamp on each occassion.

In terms of health / updates there are only two I can think of, for 2006 model RS4's it needs a ECU software update and for the DVD based sat nav upgrade to 2007 or if your are lucky, 2008 disks both of which would enable TMC.

Otherwise just normal history done by the Audi approved program, perhaps the only other thing is to get the dealer to check the front discs and there are occassions that with heavy / track use and misappropriate care they could warp.

Hi Awol

Depends what your budget is. All RS4's are pretty bullet proof. My B5 did 156,000 miles before I sold it and it was still almost perfect.

My current B7 is at 75,000 and is about to come onto the market for £35,000, if that is of any interest
