No Fuel...!

An RS4 owning client of mine came in today, minus the RS4 driving some smokey A6 of somekind  ...

"So where is your car"? I asked to which he replied, "dont ask"! but if you must...

It has no fuel intermittently and the car keeps dying on him when driving along, no power steering and no power assisted brakes, bloody terrifying when on a busy roudnabout at the time!

He has advised his dealer that he does not want the car back until it is safe to drive!

Anyone come acorss this, he says the dealer had no fault codes showing, I cant beleive this personally, but thats what he says?

Anyone??

Thanks

Jason

there was a similar problem i remember on the gallardo, if you regularly dipped it below 1/3 of a tank all the crap and sediment got sucked into the fuel pump and caused blockage problems. Lot of shared parts at VAG these days so possibly same issue?

No faults would suggest blockage in the supply, but i also remember a case of a audi having a intermittent fault on the fuel cut off crash inertia switch that would cause fuel supply to intermittently be cut off under heavy braking.

I had a similar issue in my Noble. It turned out to be a faulty fuel pump relay.

I can vouch for the fact that it is NOT fun as per my experience either...approaching a hairpin bend (track) at 100mph and the brakes, power steering, throttle begin to die leaving my underwear extremely brown.

My father had this problem with a very basic cause - can't remember the make of car it was many years ago, it was a piece of flat waste material in the petrol tank which would periodically be sucked across the fuel oultet the when no sucttion fell away & car would start, took a very long time to find what was happening.
