All I seem to do is ask questions on here but I am a new owner so I'll let myself off

I'm 38, have full no claims and 2 sp 30's on my licence. I'll be the only driver.

Up to now the best quote I've had is £1500 which I think's a bit minty, I paid alot less for a 996 two years ago.

Any suggestions?

Parked on the street, in a garage or on a driveway?

I'm in Sheffield and I've just got myself a garage.
At the moment I'm with Norwich union direct as my previous car was with them.

That seems high, I'm 27 with full no claims and no points and I pay about a grand through A-plan.

Have you got the tracker enabled?

I pay £700, eight years' guaranteed no claims, no points, late 30s, parked on the drive on the SE London/Kent borders. Insurer is Bell (part of the Admiral group).

Check out any of Admiral, Bell or Elephant - these were the most competitive for me.

Hi

I pay just under £600 with full no claims and no points and a tracker with Direct Line. When my wife had an A4 Cab she was with Norwich Union Direct at aprox £700, after an hour on the internet using confused.com it went down to £400 !

But the points make such a difference, we have a sales guy at work with a 52 plate 1.9 TDI A4 and his insurance is nearly £1500 with 2 SP30's

I pay just short of £500 with direct line. I am in a very good postcode area, the car is garaged and I am 34, my wife is 28.....we have both cars, housex2, travel, breakdown insurance all through them.

Not sure I agree with that. I'm 34 and have an SP50 (28 day ban) on my license and I still only pay £599 with A-Plan. From my experience, (and I've had quite a lot of points over the years), they don't have a huge effect on your premium.

Try Direct Line, I' m the same age, no claims and points as you Jacko but I'm a Southern Shandy drinker :) mines outside guarding the house :) . I pay about 900 i think and thats with additional driver and breakdown etc

I guess its because its a commercial policy with Zurich seems mad to me as the cars only worth 7-8K

Nope. But they did say they were not interested in the first 6 points if they were for speeding. We have been with Direct line a good 5 or 6 years now.

Almost the same scenario although you're a year older & no idea where you park, but i have full Business & SDP use limited to 25K miles per annum, 2 x SP30's & full protected NCB & i pay just under £900 with Kwik Fit Insurance. They beat my renewal premium by a good few hundred ££'s as Priv did not like the 2nd SP30.
