Which colour and seat choice??

Hi all. I currently drive a 2006 A4 Avant 2.0T s-line qtro which has the full Miltek exhaust and cat, as well as MTM remap, giving 272bhp and bag loads of torque. Whilst I love this car, it is a cracking all-rounder and still averages 28mpg, despite being driven hard, I have given in to the urges and decided to buy "the real thing" :D

My dealer has offered me a pretty good trade-in price for a 16000 mile, 18 month old car so the only thing left for me to do is choose my spec.

My current car is Phantom black, with privacy glass. I like this, but fancy a change. Current thinking is Mugello Blue with optics and privacy, or Daytona grey with privacy (don't know if the grey looks better with optics or not as have not seen one). I need some help - what is the consensus between these two colours and optics. Also, I have a 3 yr old and new baby arriving shortly..... does this rule out buckets or will there still be enough rear legroom for a 3 yr old (she currently can kick the back of the passenger seat in my A4, which has the leather s-line seats). If I opt for recaro's will this lessen the RS4 "experience"?

Any help/advice very gratefully received... I have to order before next fri... my company year-end!!

Cheers

Rich

Had my 4 & 2 year old in mine, 4 yr old could reach the back of the seats (had buckets) but no big deal and plenty room for him....

If your still partial to Phantom black with Privacy glass, mine is currently sitting at Leeds Audi with 7k miles on if it's not been snapped up as yet......

Leeds also have Mugello blue one for comparison.....not for me though colour wise.....

Simon - Last orders are long gone, but there are quite a few cars floating around the dealer network, seems Daytona grey is the only colour not available now on an unregistered car.... pretty much everything else is though. If I go Daytona, it will have to be an ex-demo (Reading and Northampton both have 07 cars with less than £5k miles)

Still keen to hear colour recommendations along with optics, Y or N???

Cheers

finally ordered mine 10 days ago after agonising abt the spec/colour of the new ones that were available. at that time there were abt 6 daytona it was black that was really tight only 2 left, this was for a saloon, and finally decided on daytona which came closest to spec i wanted. my local dealer, who only had mugello and avus cars swopped one with a dealer in scotland. now sitting here very frustrated as cant pick it up till next saturday.

I have Phantom black but would go Daytona Grey next time if it were possible. As for which seats it has to be the buckets IMHO. Leg room is only an issue if you have the front seats right back.

Optics is a personal thing. If you like the stealth look, then yes. If you are "bling" person, then the chrome is the way to go.

I originaly wanted black with Optics and piano black interior with Buckets. Ended up with black, but no optics or piano interior.

At the end of the day, you have to look at it and clean it, so get what you like.

I don't think you can go wrong with any combo, though I would never get one myself with the silver leather interior.

I have a 2 year old who is in the back all the time. Still plenty of room to get comfy in the front, and have room for him even with his seat reclined when he sleeps.

I took delivery of my new Daytona Grey Avant last week. I prefer the grey car without black optics. I also went for the Recaro seats as they hold you in position perfectly well and IMHO are much better for every day use. Whilst I liked the buckets, my wife did'nt and at the end of the day I would only get the full benefit of them (on a track )for about 3% of the time I drive the car.

I have Mugello Blue.

I actually like the look of the chrome. I didn't think I would, but when you see it in combination with the grill, window surrounds and "those" mirrors, it all just works.

I also have the Reccaro's with the silver piping, very nice :-)

Rich you cant really go wrong with any of the colour combos to be honest its all about personal choice. I saw a Sprint Blue that had been detailed and it was gorgous but just to racey for me in my old age :)

If your a bit flex on exact spec get a nearly new one save yourself a good few quid on purchase price.

Mine arrives tomorrow ( hopefully) and I looked at black initially but couldnt find one with the spec i wanted. So went for 2 month old Daytona with optics and privacy with SS+ which adds to the stealth again IMO. If your looking at Reading I think I drove/tested that car and it was sweet. in fact so was the Sales woman :P You will have no issue with an ex demo as normally good spec. there was also a delivery miles black avant with optics and special order leather/ red black combo in Newbury Audi recently. I sort of know the GM there ... and he is willing to do a deal but be aware it doesnt have sat nav ( weird) but I expect it could be retro fitted) Ive got some Photos of mine if you want to have a look at the combo. PM me email address and Ill send them over.

Good luck.

Mine also with Buckets which quite frankly look and feel the business. If you carying a few extra pounds :( perhaps the recaros might be better and in terms of room I couldnt see any real noticable differeance. Hey good excuse to get down the Gym!!

Yes I agree the darker clours do go well with the "Chrome finish", mine is Daytona and I like the chrome with it.

just bought a new daytona saloon with silver recaros, hate it when someone says something like that, as now im worried made a mistake. i saw a daytona with silver but with buckets which i thought looked really good and feel gives the interior much lighter feel and someone pmed me some photos of the combination as well. problem is buying new now its not possible get exact spec you want, there wasnt a daytona with black recaros. i went for recaros as feel gives the kids in the back a much better view forward and think this helps reduce problems with travel sickness. the buckets are great for the driver but am changing cars so that can use this one as my car and also the main family one. pick it up 0900 saturday.

I would not worry, you.ve bought a great car, and if one was out there with your spec and I wanted one, I would not mind those seats at all.
PS) your going to love it. 8)

I like the buckets on mine. Regs rear space. I'm six foot tall and we drove to Oulton park for the BSB this year four up from Inverness which is a fair old trek. No problem with adults in the back. your kids will have no probs. The rear passengers will have ample opportunity to stretch their legs as you'll be stopping regularly for fuel anyway!! :))
