Tyres

I know it's been discussed before, but my car is due a service soon and the tyres are starting to look a bit close to the minimum tread depth.
They currently have the original Pirelli Pzero Rossos on but has anyone had a better result with an alternative make ?Contis etc and if so does it really make a huge amount of difference to handling, tyre roar etc
Advice would be appreciated as car going into dealers on Friday

Try Here, http://www.pneus-online.co.uk/car-tyre- ... r19-Y.html
they are free delivery anywhere and can garantee the tyre for £4 for two years. What they don't show they can get within a week.
P-Zerro's are OK for me. The price for the Zerro's is £145 when in stock.

PS2s all the way.

I had PZeros and they only lasted 9K miles, this set of PS2s have done 6K and look good for at least the same again. The PS2s are also quieter and I can'r feel any change in grip or feedback.

Thanks, seems PS2s have the vote.
Do you favour getting them at an Audi dealer or an independent; am a bit paranoid about potential for damage to the rim when changing the tyre, had problems with a BMW dealer along this line a few years back.

ps2's ,
they are nice and soft so very easy to fit on the rim , I would get the fitter to check the rims for damage & them agree what they would do if they damage them . I've got 275/30/19's and they "fell "on the rim.

Remember to order the "Audi wheel weights" as they are all sizes and look like factory fit once on the car.

Sorry John, not with you there on 'they are all sizes'????

I always go to an independent tyre dealer - Audi dealers prices are insane!

"all sizes" of Audi wheel weights means they come in all the different weights needed to balance the wheel/tyre combination.

If it's any use to anyone, I just got a deal on 4 new Michelin PS2's via ATS, they did them at a measly £113.93 each, including the VAT!

Audi M.D. wanted £360 each +VAT, so wouldn't recommend main dealers unless you got money to burn!

I have replaced the worn ones with exactly the same tyres, as I have managed to get just over 22,000 miles (mainly motorway) out of the originals and I am informed that PZeros will struggle to do half that!

Can anyone put me in touch with other B7 RS4 owners in the North west of England?

Cheers,

Chris.

Apparently, they are available at that price at ALL tyremaster depots, you just got to hassle them into a good price, barter where you can!

Might help that a mate of mine has an account with them and he has a fleet of 80 vans and cars, but apparently tyremaster do certain 'cash deals' for companies without going on to monthly invoicing! All ligit, but got to pay when collecting the car, not 30 days like most accounts!

Depends on mood of manager I suppose, but place where I went, he was a right Petrolhead, had to take him for a 'blast' as part of the deal!

Can ask my mate if he could find out what they will do for a group purchase if anyone else interested!?
