Never underestimate........

Post by berry100 » Mon Jul 16, 2007 8:35 pm

Had a tussle with a Nissan Skyline this evening (boy racer stuff I know  ), whilst it was behind me I decided to floor it in 4th at about 3k revs, unfortunately for me he went past me at approx 110 kleptons (private road of course).......i backed off when I reached 120 kleptons (too sensible for my own good)

Was it likely tuned? or was I in too much off a weak spot by not dropping down to 3rd?

Don't know a thing about skylines (apart from what they look like), only thing I noticed was an extra large zorst, GT R badge and that's about it......it was in the North West Area if anyone knows of any skyline owners round there?

Apologies in advance if the boy racer stuff is unappreciated but couldn't resist when I saw it behind me

To beat an RS4 it would have to be a mild tune car.

I have a R32 GTR running 630 BHP and my RS4 (B7 Avant) and the skyline is soooo much faster in a straight line. But with 220BHP more it should be.

I used to have a 440 BHP GTR and that was fast. Lighter than my RS4 any maybe a bit faster. But not as composed on UK Roads.

But your right, Never underestimate the GTR.

Just re read. If the Skyline was going for it. you should have been in 3rd Maybe even 2nd and used all 8250 RPM

Hmmm with hindsight, shoud have dropped to 3rd, but as I was in front I thought I'd give it a chance by flooring 4th then as I hit 5750 revs I would nail it,how wrong I was

Every credit to it though.......what would it have topped out at if I'd pushed it?

i was in a very mildly tuned R34 GTR and it felt slow against my old 360bhp S4, so I'd say the GTR was modified!

Skylines are some of the most tunable cars ever - stories of 1000 bhp are actually true! Still with 450 bhp he'd probably say goodbye to the RS4

I wouldn't get too worried about a tuned Skyline beating you in a straight line, well.. with mtm surpercharger i am sure the result could be different

:( - I dread the day I come across one. If it is a mildly tuned one then I will be fine - if it is a silly tinkered one, I may surprise him, but he will still ruin me :(
