Looking to acquire RS4 Avant...

Hi,
New to the forum.
After having being off German cars for a couple of years now, I have decided on a possible comeback to at least one brand: Audi.
After having heard so well about the new RS4, and having heard that they will finish production soon, I am seriously considering an RS4 Avant.
Unfortunately I do not know any RS4 owners or heard any of their personal experiences about this new model, so I was wondering if anyone could give me a heads-up on the good and bad stuff?
Of course, before anything else, I am not going to whine about consumptions, or the maintenance, which obviously are "special" for such a car!
Thanks!

you should do your own research by looking through the previous forum, the reason no one has answered yet.. is probabily because its covered plenty of times on this forum by previous posts. But to your question... don't hesitate.. just buy it.. you won't regret it... in fact.. you will probabily feel guilty that you love the car more than your wife lol

There are 27 pages of threads all about the Rs4 (B7), both Avant and saloon, mostly all written by current and past owners.

Great!
Thanks, just thought that the owners would love to brag about their cars over and over again!
Ta!

I agree with that you should be able to find lots of info by digging in the forum. Here's the pros and cons argument I used before buying my RS4.
Pros
- High performance that's packaged in a way that can be used and enjoyed every day.
- Practicality of 4 doors and a boot.
- Very high build quality
- Very high quality interior
- High reliability compared to other performance cars
- Rave reviews at time of release will aid residuals
- Relative rarity which will protect residuals
- Q-car appearance (especially when de-badged like mine)
- Practical long-distance cruiser
- Strong dealer network with good parts availability
- Reasonably long service interval
- That sound!!!
Cons
- Fuel consumption (18mpg day to day, 25mpg on motorway)
- Running costs
- Insurance costs
- Honestly can't think of anything else

As far as MPG it does as many as my Impreza WRX!
It does sound like an enjoyable long-range cruiser......
By the sound of it I if do get my hands on it, I will be driving with the windows down all the time!

Hi,
I have a Mar 07 RS4 Avant, previously had a 997 Carrera 4S and the RS4 puts as much a smile (if not more) on my face, than the Porsche ever did. Stonking performance and amazing flexibility from that glorious 4,2ltr V8 ...... it just loves to rev. Added to that, four seat practicality and the advantages of the avant, it's an all round superb car - do I miss the Porker? not really, praise enough I'd say - there are still a few avants knocking around dealers but not many left, so make your mind up quick.

There are many, I have covered 1800 miles, no oil useage, drive superbly well, oil can be bought half price and tyres can be bought 35% cheaper, so go buy one.

Yeah sounds good!
Damn 2.0 uses a lot of oil.

How do the RS4 and 997 compare performancewise in a staight line up to not too ridiculous speeds.
