I tried the EBC redstuff pads on my B5 (with B7 brakes), wasn't very impressed tbh. Initial bite was better, but seemed to fade quite quickly and were noisy.
Personally I would stick with OEM pads. They were perfectly OK even after a serious hammering at Donnington. You can pick up a set for £175 from DSGWagen on ebay and fit them yourself - piece of cake as they just slide out from the rear of the caliper.

How many kms have they done all up?
Is there any choice?

I am on 20k miles. Original pads and discs. Pads have about 1/3 wear left in them, I prefer to change them early (and will be doing an oil change at same time).

I have ordered a sat of RS15 compound Pagid pads, front only. Should be with me in 10 days or so.
They have very high level of friction all the way through the range, about 40% higher than std pads. I'll let you kow how I get on.

Tartan, let us know how they work out. I have the Ferodo DS2500 pads and love them. Work well on the street and the track.
Also, don't forget to change out your brake fluid for some racing fluid like Motul RBF 600. That makes all the difference in the world and eliminates fade due to fluid boil.

Okay, got them on and done about 10miles inc the bed-in procedure. They are good, very good. Every time I brake they get better. Brake dust and disc wear are still to be determined and I suspect they will keep getting better for the first 200mile's odd.
I'll keep you posted.

Good luck with them Rob, I hope disk wear is minimal.

At higher speeds they are brutal. Done 100miles this morning and they are very good at speed and inspire a whole new level of confidence.

Sounds good, although I just replaced mine with stock ones. I had to do rotors as well. Audi said they prefer not to machine the discs??? anyone heard that??

The tolerances are low these days, machining is not an option.

hello there!!
was wondering in the end what's the best option?
I can have the stock ones at 240 euro, the ebc yellow at 220 euro; can't find the ds 2500 so have nothing to compare.
thanks for you answers.
cheers from Italy

Good thing this thread was resurected as my wear sensors came on last night. Looks like I'll be needing new discs and pads.
Rob, a year on how have you found the Pagid pads? Any excessive disc or pad wear, and how's the dust build-up?
