clicky squeak

Post by SimonH » Wed Jun 13, 2007 2:00 pm

Anybody have a sort of very intermittent, clicky/squeak coming from around the glovebox/passenger door panel area?.This car is so good that you notice any minor imperfection, regards, SIMON. :)

I have a very slight squeak from behind the steering wheel. I can only hear it when the car is cold and the road surface is poor. It's only just enough to be annoying, doubt there's anything that can be done though...

I had feint creak when going over bumps which came from the carbon fibre insert that runs across the dash. I pinpointed it to the bit just below the left of the instrument panel. I discovered when I put my finger over it...the noise disappeared, so I gave it a good hard press and the noise has gone now.

That was the only creak/squeak I had.

Hope you find it. It is such a well made car that it surprises you when you hear a rattle/creak/squeak.

I will find the beggar.I will have to let my good lady drive the car  , while i find the culprit. Its one of those tiny intermittant creaks, that you wait for to happen,GGGRRR, there it is, and you cant enjoy the drive.I think its because the car is near perfect, that it is annoying, regards, SIMON. :)

No creaks from the front but a creaking in the back of the car is bugging me. It aint the armrest & sounds like it's either coming from the headlining or the actual rear seats. I've checked for possible causes & found nothing yet. My hunt will continue.

Apart from advising that I “drive around with it open”, they’ve used some special grease stuff (sorry can’t be more specific) on the areas where the parcel shelf slots in to the boot sides, and so far (one week) it seems to be OK.

Bloody driver seat still squeaking though

Yes, from the drivers door panel (just under the window.) clickety-click every time I push the door open. Very annoying, but I don't know if the dealer will take a look at it. The car is brand new too.

Jezzer,
That is exactly what i have traced my problem to be.Only realised that the squeak is not there, when i have a passenger.I thought it was the seat at first, so spent a couple of days digging around under there, but the Recaros, are so well made, it just wasnt going to be the seat.I then clipped the passenger seat belt together, and voila, no more squeak. Its funny how the noise it made, sounded like it was coming from the passenger, door panel/glovebox area.It must have been one of those Bose squeaks, with surround sound  , regards, SIMON. :D

To Jezzer and Simon, I've noted that same noise in mine as well. Do you have a remedy for that? It seems to me the noise is a lot less if the height adjustment of the passenger seat belt is at the highest click.
Regards.

I have a rattling drivers seatbelt clip too, driving me bonkers. Everytime you move the clutch it rattles.

I'm going to cut mine off which should solve the problem.

A- ha, so that's what it is. Same here and it was annoying the hell out of me. Even worse when your showing the car off to a mate and they notice it too :( The comment was 'For that kind of money you'd expect better'.
