Re: RS4 B7 Oil & Filter Change Guide
2.5 litres seems alot just for 'topping up'. Did you check the dipstick when the oil was hot and on level ground?

Re: RS4 B7 Oil & Filter Change Guide
Hi all, can anyone help with the part number for the rubber grommet that holds the carbon cover over the oil filter as I have one missing.
Thanks,

Cool guide, good job. The only thing I'm wondering is how come you don't run a flushing agent through before draining? don't think it's worth doing?

Re: RS4 B7 Oil & Filter Change Guide
Id agree, and it is critical to allow the oil some time to flow down through the block.Timster wrote:Sounds like you may have over-filled it Sonny !?!sunny wrote:oil was low on my rs4 b7 i topped it up with about 2.5litres to max and know the car smokes when standstill and also sometimes when driving??? someone please give me some advice could it be down to the oil used.
Often tricky to see the actual level when its clean oil on the stick.... so two or three dips might be better.
Rule of thumb is 1litre from the low mark to the maximum mark on the stick.
May be an egg sucking lesson there but i thought id mention it....
