Must run for min of 15 mins??

Whilst at Audi at the weekend they told me that the new RS4 must be allowed to run for 15 mins once started. If not it will flood..? Surely not...?

How can they spend X million miles in testing and not tackle such a basic problem?

I am most enoyed you are getting such CRAP advice. Could you either PM with who issued this advice or issue it on this thread.

Kind Regards

Matthew

Matt - no probs. It was Audi Swindon. Can't remember the guys name but he was a Tech lead and then tried to tell me that a 150hp chip could be applied easily. Then he told me that he had heard via Audi that they had a tuned version of the engine running 1200bhp.....I tried not to laugh but not knowing the capabilities of the engine I did not want to query him. I must admit I found the fuelling statement strange but like I said, as I don't know the engine etc - I was not in a position to comment.

Rob,

Thanks for the info, good to see your is such safe hands in Swindon. (Not) Audi are currently offering the RS4 engine to AirBus for the A380, they are going to tune it to 14,000 bhp, did you not know.

For the record;

There was an isolated problem with B7 over fueling, only on a small number of cars (under 10), which was resolved by an ECM mod. Basically one of the fuel mask senders was reporting last and not first in the error chain, this resulted in the ECM continuing to fuel for a short period after the engine was switched off.

The problem has been blown out of all proportion; if you ring Audi UK and ask to speak to someone nice in technical they will give you details.

Matt

I was in the technical sales meeting and it was mentioned then. The flooding may occur is the car is moved backwards and forwards say at a garage. But should not affect normal use.
