Buckets because they are the proper RS4 seat. Beautifully designed and with the added benefit of a one click sport tension setting. Ordering normal Recaros instead as fitted to the lessor S4 could affect the cars' residual value.

What about in a Cab though? Would the residuals not be affected by the fact it's more difficult to get in the back?
Cheers,

The electric recaros are not a lesser seat. The one click sport is a load of nonsense. The RS4 is a 'super saloon' not a trackday special or rice barge.
If you look at other cars in the class, both past and present they have had 'normal' seats. Look at M3/M5/AMGs/RS4/6 etc. Even the seats on a non GT3/GT2 Porsche aren't buckets. Its what the buyers want.

I'm not saying those who have buckets are wrong, but there will be plenty of buyers on the used market who will prefer the recaros.

RS4 Buckets as it's one of the aspects that makes the RS4 unique, and they are simply suburb seats. Even my wife loves them.

I'm sure that my Mum (aged 71) will think that they are ridiculous, but I'm buying the car for me, so she'll have to go in the back!!!. My 3 year old son thinks they are fab too!!!!

Buckets - because they are exclusive to the RS4, look amazing, and are very comfortable for a 5'10 bloke of average weight !

Slightly boy racer yes- but not when clad witth finest silver leather from Audi Exclusive

Said it before but have to agree with fishface. If you like the look of the buckets, then great; if you find them more comfortable then great; if you are buying the RS4 as a pure track car (why, I have no idea) then again great, get the buckets. But the reason I personally fell for the Audi brand and the RS in particular is its understated looks whilst having the stupendous performance in an everyday car. This seat option has seemingly partly turned the B7 into a Wide Boy's car, and it's actually put me off the entire idea of buying one. Shame, because it's clearly a fabulous machine. I'm surprised how many have been taken in by the sport button too, it's a complete gimmick (see start button) unless of course people consider themselves such advanced drivers that they deem it a necessary option. How agressively are you going to be driving on public roads?! Drive like a lunatic around me and I'll shoot you. Also don't forget that the B7 is really a mass market car, so site members will actually make up a tiny % of owners and I'd be very surprised if Jo Public wanted the boy racer option. And I bet they look in worse condition after a year than a B5 recaro seat does after 5....

Apologies if I've upset anyone - just my opinion, but valid points I think...
RS4 B5. Where it all started.
RS6+ Never to be replaced.
Replaced by: 997 Turbo. Didn't like.
Replaced by RS6. I like(d).
Land Rover Defender. Not as nippy.
Back with C6 RS6
And again C7 RS6

Well said - lots of people are taking the S4 Recaros.

Those people with, dare I say, ample proportions in the arse and thigh department may have problems. I currently have Recaro's in my S4 which are superb but can be a little too compliant when pushing the limits on bends etc. I’ve just spent approaching two hours in an RS4 this morning as I was in a quandary whether they are comfortable over long periods and thankfully for me they are.
I'm 6'4" and 15 stone ish, and would require some assistance before entering a Mr Universe contest.
I think i will use the delivery delay to my advantage, book into a gym and tone all those suspect areas prior to arrival of the new toy....

RS4 Recaros - amazingly comfortable and look brand new after nearly 6 years. Buckets will wear on the side each time you get out.

S4 recaros for me in the RS4 avant. Family had trouble in the buckets and concerned about space in the back with a back facing baby carrier - buckets are great for me but I need flexibility as I want to drive the family on the weekend trips etc rather than have to drive the Avant 2.5TDi that my wife drives (will change this out next year for something else).

BTW, phantom black, tech pack, sport susp, cool box, S4 Recaros, heated seats spec for me.
