Hello Ive just registered having found this site a few days ago .A friend and i have ordered Avants i specd mine today
Black/Black
Tech Pack
Dash phone kit
Carbon int
Thats about it we are scratching heads on sports suspension and sunroof
dealer told us not to bother with sp susp and i realize sunroof is a personal thing
I imagine youve probably already discussed "spec" but any advice would be appreciated. Also not very happy about no removable towbar (no not for towing a caravan) not keen on fitting an aftermarket jobbie
PS
Took dealers demo out last week for a couple of hours last week- impressed !

Hi Lee,
I think you've gone for a good spec. Colour is a personal thing but you can never go wrong with black. The tech pack is an absolute must. The GSM on the dash does'nt look that great but is very practical and you certainly don't want to lose that lovely steering wheel which you would have to if you went for the armrest phone.
I personally would option a sunroof (but not the solar one) as there are a lot of people who like them and is impossible to retro fit properly. The other option I would go for is the auto dimming rear view mirror. Very inexpensive at £200 when you consider you get auto lights/rain sensors and coming home function. I would also option the FREE isofix and front centre armrest.

You must be joking. I have a piece of chewing gum stuck into mine to stop it working. IMHO, its a bad option to choose. It dims when to don't want it, like in traffic, and doesn't dim when you want it to.

Never had a problem with it. Anyway it has a button to switch it off.

Im Lee's mate who also has an avant on order. Yes Ducky, you are correct, me and lee raced last year. Hes given up this season due to other commitments.
Was it Les at lookers you have been taking to? Its a bit of a pain that Audi dont do a factory fit towbar, have you found a good alternative?

My spec at the moment is:
Black or Daytona
Tech pack
Free Isofix and armrest
Carbon
Sunroof
Phone Prep
Auto Dim Mirror
Tracker Monitor
Like Lee, I cant decide on the suspension. The standard felt great on a test drive, but im worried that after getting used to the car and pushing hard it may feel a bit soft. Also thinking of a trip to the 'ring in the summer where it could really shine!

Dax,
I see that you've speced the free Isofix.
Is this because you've gone for the Recaro sport seats, as the car comes with rear isofix as std, and the front isofix and air bag de-act are only available with the recaros.
Or do you need to spec this option with the RS4 buckets to ensure that you get the rear isofix fittings?
I've speced my Avant with RS4 buckets but I haven't speced isofix as I thought the rear was std. Do I need to add it to my spec to ensure that I get the rear, or will adding it delete the seats? I'm confused!!!!
Does anyone know what to do for sure?

That's a relief i thought i was the only one that found the brochure abit confusing. Plus customers seem to know more about the cars than the salesmen. I'm always abit reluctant to take their word for it.

I've specced the sports suspension plus. For a few reasons. It has to better better than whats on there, it sits 10mm lower(Iknow you wont actually be able to tell. But its amazing what a slight difference in ride height makes when you look at the car) Also as im notorious for getting bored with cars after a short while. I think it will help when coming to sell it.

Re ISO Fix.
I specd my car with bucket seats and ISO fix but the order was rejected by Audi as you cannot have ISO fix with the bucket seats. The reason for this is a health and safety issue. Rear facing child seats cannot fit in the bucket seats and I was told that only rear facing child seats would require the airbag turn OFF key switch and any child sat in the bucket seat of the car should have the seat pushed as far back as possible with the airbag ON. I was lead to beleive that ISO fix is NOT standard on the rear seats and only comes with the Recaros.
