Post by Ev60 » Thu Mar 16, 2006 1:46 pm

Hiya All,

Fontian have managed to get their hands on another RS4 with 50 miles on the clock!! Their not doing bad getting their hands on another RARE  car.......

They will no doubt be selling this one for £60K as well

Bet the producer form Top Gear wished he'd bought an RS4 instead of a Cayman now :?: !! If you didn't see that show the last comment wont make sense lol

Anyway, later chaps
Cheers

"Car currently in final build, due mid April."

makes you wonder if fontain have actually been ordering cars themselves, for resale at profit

similar to ticket touts at concerts :)

I know, but they are still going to sell it for £60K when there are cars avaliable at dealers and people are paying the money :bash: !!

All i'm saying is that making a few phone calls could save someone ALOT of money  ...

Still a stunning car though
Cheers

This could be the last one...so hurry while stocks last...and you'll only have to take about a £15,000 dip if you're forced to sell within the next year...! :drink:

This would be consistent with Vindis Audi in Cambs attempting (and nearly succeeding but for the info on this forum) to sell me a demo RS4 available in June with 500 miles (hard) miles on speced to £53k and looking for £58k.

I'm glad you didnt fall for that one Dean - it reminds me of when the B5 RS4 was launched and our local Audi dealer had one in the showroom with a couple of thousand hard miles on it and wanted £5k over list (virtually no extras - hardly necessary on such a highly spec'd car)...

They justified their price on its "scarcity value"...

These are still easier to get hold of than M5's

Just sat with a BMW Salesman, spec'd the car on factory system, build slot....

2 years away!!!!

Put down a £5K deposit on an Avus Silver RS with Fontain about 18 months back, had left my house at 5.30 am in the morning to drive down to pick it up (live in Sunderland) at a reasonable time and get back to show it off to my mates

Got a phone call at 8.30 to tell me that the VIN on the car didn't match that of the VIN on the V5 (You can check my post's on the B5 RS4 forum from back them)!! Luckly I had told them i was leaving early as would have gotten all the way there to find this out :knob: , as it was I was about five miles form the junction of the M1/M25 anyway

Oh yeah and they 'declined' to refund my petrol cost (approx 280-90 miles in an S4 :x ) to add insult to total disappointment!!

Thats why I have my S4 STILL and my mile muncher (which can scare the crap outta most motors 8) ).
Cheers

ev60: :(

thats most odd - I got my S4 from them and was told they HPI check all cars before accepting them etc. - this was less than a year ago though - maybe they've improved their checking since then.

Seems like people have had mixed experiences with Fontain. If they do watch this forum, as people have suggested, then I'm sure they will make sure they smarten their act up. As a dedicated independent Audi specialist, views & experiences of members of sites like this will be important to them.

As regards Audi keeping an eye on them, I'm not sure what they can do - I had understood that the changes in EC competition law had put an end to car manufacturers' monopolies on how vehicles are sold in the UK...?
