Hi,

I've had a consistent TPMS error (line through flat tyre).

I've reset a number of times and also replaced the Antenna.

The error went away briefly but returned.

I'm guessing I have an issue with one or more of the sensors.

Is there a reliable way of working out which sensor is the issue?

I remember reading a post on letting a tyre down to see which one it is?

there are some tools which can read the sensors data, then go around and see if you can check things like battery level.

likely a battery in sensor getting old, when 1 goes the rest follow

If you can get hold of a Vagcom/VCDS cable you can read the measurement data from the sensors. From memory, I think it identifies the sensors based on the rotation and signal strength. I can investigate further is you haven't solved it by now.

Thanks so much. I've got an ODBEleven and checked the live data. Nothing seems to be updating from any of the wheels. I've already changed the antenna. I'll investigate further.

An update on this. I've now replaced the module and attempted to recode the unit.

In total, I've replaced the sensors, antenna and module.

The change wheel option resets the warning for 20min but then returns.

I can't see any live data from OBDEleven for the wheels. I can see the antenna and module in the data.

I'm not sure what else I can do. Is there a way from outside the car to see if the values are broadcasting? I've seen mechanics with a scan tool they use near the wheel.

Follow up on this:

I've used a TPMS tool to check the sensors and all are registering data, correct PSI, battery and temperature.

Are there any other ideas people have?

The sensors have been replaced.
The module has been replaced.
The antenna has been replaced.

I've tried all the reset tricks but I still get the 01521 error after the 20min relearn period.

Is there any other wiring or known issues with this?

just turn the TPMS off in Vagcom and save yourself a load of hassle

Yes, I gave up in the end and coded it out.

I might revisit at some point as it bugs me that it's not working as it should!

Did you buy sensors with the correct frequency? I think the OEM ones are 433MHZ. Pretty sure I bought OEM ones from a seller in Poland.

I coded mine out for a few years but then switched it back on when I fitted new wheels sensors.

Could be the wiring issue between the antenna behind the bumper and the TPMS module behind the back seats? I remember the connector to the antenna being quite dirty so might need a clean out with contact cleaner.

If there are no error codes in VCDS for the controller module or the antenna then it has to be the sensors themselves.

It think they go to sleep when the car is parked up before switching on once it starts moving.

They go into a deep sleep when sat on the factory shelf before switching on when they see air pressure.
